PWC Police Beat 8/28/13

**INCIDENTS**

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On August 28th at 2:11AM, police responded to the 14300 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. The victim, a 38 year old man of no fixed address, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind by two unknown men. During the encounter, the men assaulted the victim and demanded his property. The victim was able to fight off the men who then fled the area on foot. No property was taken. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Suspect Descriptions:
White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 6’0”, 160lbs with a thin build
Last seen wearing a black t-shirt and khaki shorts

Last seen wearing a white male and khaki shorts

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On August 28th at 12:26AM, police responded to the 14400 block of Hereford Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, an 18 year old man of no fixed address, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he encountered an unknown man. The man asked if he could use the victim’s phone. When the victim handed over his phone, he was surrounded by four other males. The group assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male [initial suspect], between 18 & 25 years of age, 6’2” with a thin build, short black hair, and an unshaven face
Last seen wearing a red shirt and blue shorts

Remaining suspects were described as white males, around 6’2” – no further description

Residential Burglary – On August 27th at 11:36PM, police responded to the 3800 block of Wagon Wheel Ln in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was asleep inside his residence when he awoke to an unknown man inside his bedroom. The homeowner was able to chase the man from his residence and contacted police. Officers arrived and determined that entry was made into the home through a rear door which had been forced opened. A wallet, containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, a cell phone, iPod, and prescription medications were reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. The homeowner was unable to describe the intruder.

Residential Burglary – On August 27th at 6:45PM, police responded to the 16600 block of Geddy Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00AM and 5:00PM on August 26th. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured basement door. Four chrome wheel rims, valued around $1,200, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 27th at 9:01AM, police responded to the 5600 block of Liberty Manor Cl in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary to a home under construction. The construction manager reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00PM on August 26th and 7:15AM on August 27th. Entry into the residence was made through an unsecured garage door then through an interior door which had been forced opened. Appliances including an oven, cook top, microwave, and griddle, total value around $2,000, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 26th at 1:51PM, police responded to the 13600 block of Kingsman Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary to a vacant home. A realtor reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00AM on August 19th and 1:30PM on August 26th. Entry was made into the residence through a rear sliding glass door which had been forced open. No property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Maiming Resulting from a DUI [Driving under the Influence] – On August 27th at 1:30AM, police responded to the area of Hoadly Rd and Purcell Rd in Manassas (20112) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2007 Lincoln Navigator was traveling northbound on Dale Blvd when the driver disregarded the red traffic signal at the intersection with Hoadly Rd and collided with the driver of a 2002 Honda Accord who was traveling westbound on Hoadly Rd. Following the collision, the driver of the Lincoln attempted to leave the scene however the vehicle became inoperable a short distance from the scene. The driver of the Lincoln was subsequently arrested by responding officers and determined to have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and in possession of marijuana. The driver and passenger of the Honda were transported to area hospitals with significant but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Lincoln was not injured. Following the investigation, the driver of the Lincoln was determined to have been at fault and was arrested.

Robert Earl BARROW, 51, of 54 Ripley Rd in Stafford
Charged with maiming resulting from a DUI, driving under the influence – 2nd offense in 10 years, felony hit & run, and possession of marijuana

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 25th at 12:45AM, police responded to Henry’s Towing located at 10111 Residency Rd in Manassas (20110) for an assault. An employee of the business, a 41 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, assaulted him over a dispute about his vehicle being towed. The victim stated that he was opening the tow lot when the accused ran into the lot and got into his vehicle. At that point, the accused attempted to drive the vehicle out of the lot however the victim had closed the gate. The accused then exited his vehicle, approached the victim, and struck him to his face. After the assault, the accused reopened the gate and left the area. Officers located and arrested the accused at his residence without further incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Charged with robbery

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 23rd at 10:50PM, police responded to the 7400 block of Boundary Ave in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 54 year old man of Manassas, and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. Following the investigation, officers attempted to arrest the accused for the assault. At that point, the accused actively resisted and pushed the officers before fleeing the residence on foot. The accused ran to a nearby wooded area where he was located and arrested.

Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery on LEO, 1 count of domestic assault & battery, and 1 count of resisting arrest with force

Narcotics Investigation – On August 27th at 2:54PM, police responded to the 14100 block of Madrigal Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a suspicious vehicle. Caller reported to police that a vehicle was in the area possibly selling narcotics. Officers arrived in the area and approached the vehicle on foot. At that point, the driver sped off at a high rate of speed. While fleeing, an occupant of the vehicle discarded a baggie which contained suspected cocaine. Witnesses to the incident directed officers to the vehicle which was found unoccupied a short distance away. A police K-9 was used in the search for the suspect(s). Detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force were able to identify the vehicle’s driver as the accused, TOGAN. A search warrant was subsequently obtained and executed at the suspect’s residence located at 14177 Madrigal Dr. As a result of the search, marijuana and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. The following arrests were also made without further incident. The ALLEN suspect is not believed to have been involved in the earlier incident but was arrested following the search of the residence.

Charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, 1 count of possession of marijuana, 1 count of reckless driving, 1 count of eluding, and 1 count of driving on a revoked license
