PWC Police Beat 8/27/13

**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 24th at 6:03AM, police responded to the 7500 block of Purdue Cr in Manassas (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 20 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by a group of unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men assaulted the victim, knocking him to ground. While on the ground, another man emptied out the victim’s pockets. The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. The victim was unable to describe the assailants.

Residential Burglary – On August 27th at 1:46AM, police responded to the 1300 block of East Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM on August 22nd and 1:46AM on August 1:46AM. Entry appeared to have been made through the front door which had been forced open. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Abduction – On August 24th at 12:25AM, police responded to the 12700 block of Hunterbrook Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Lorton, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were driving to her residence in Lorton when a verbal altercation ensued. At one point, the accused changed directions and began driving to his address on Hunterbrook Dr. The victim repeatedly requested to get out of the vehicle and attempted to do so on multiple occasions when the vehicle came to a stop. The accused prevented the victim from exiting the vehicle until they parked in the area of Hunterbrook Dr. Once there, the victim was able to exit the vehicle and run to a nearby service station to contact police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. No injuries were reported.

**ARRESTS** (Continued)

Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault – On August 25th at 2:12AM, police responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for an assault. The victim, a 27 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was asleep inside her residence when she awoke to the accused, a known acquaintance, inside her bedroom. At that point, an altercation ensued between the two parties over property. During the altercation, the accused threw the victim to the ground. The accused eventually fled the residence when the victim called police. Officers determined that the accused made entry into the residence through a window. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant against the accused. The accused was arrested without further incident on August 26th.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On August 25th at 12:42PM, police responded to investigate an attempted robbery which was reported to have occurred at the TD Bank located at 13630 Foulger Sq in Woodbridge (22193). An employee of the bank reported to police that she was involved in a verbal altercation with a customer, later identified as the accused, over an issue with a deposit. After the encounter, the employee went to a nearby ATM to empty the night deposits. At that point, the accused approached the employee and grabbed a stack of checks which had been removed from the ATM. The employee was able to get the checks back from the accused. After a brief altercation, another customer was able to get the accused to leave the bank. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant against the accused. The accused was arrested without further incident on August 26th.

**ARRESTS** (Continued)

Reckless Driving | Felony Eluding – On August 26th at 9:34PM, a Prince William County police officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Fraley Blvd and Possum Point Rd in Dumfries (22026) for a traffic offense. The officer made contact with the driver and was returning to her cruiser when the driver drove over a medium and proceeded southbound on Main St. The officer followed the vehicle with her lights and siren activated to the area of Brady Hill Rd where the driver was unable to maintain control of the vehicle and struck the median causing the vehicle to be inoperable.  At that point, the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, he was apprehended without further incident. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the driver had provided her with a false identity before fleeing. A search of the accused resulted in marijuana being recovered.
