PWC Police Beat 8/20/13

**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 20th at 2:23AM, police responded to the 14300 block of Westminister Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 28 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind by three men. One of the men struck the victim to the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. The men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. This incident was not random.

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On August 19th at 9:04PM, police responded to the 2700 block of Potomac Mill Cl in Woodbridge (22192) for an attempted robbery. The victim, a 37 year old woman of Stafford, reported to police that she was walking to her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by five unknown males. One of the males attempted to grab the victim’s cell phone which led to a struggle. At one point, the victim was knocked to the ground and was struck to her face. The group fled on foot. No property was taken and minor injuries were reported.
Suspect Descriptions:
The group was described as Hispanic males, all between 16 & 18 years of age, between 5’4” & 5’10”, with thin builds—
1st male was wearing a gray shirt

2nd male was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans

3rd male was wearing a red shirt and khakis pants

4th male was wearing a white and blue shirt

5th male was wearing a light blue shirt and dark pants

Residential Burglary – On August 20th at 12:37AM, police responded to the 13700 block of Van Doren Rd in Manassas (20112) for a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that at around 10:00PM, she heard a noise coming from outside of the home. The homeowner went outside and discovered a ladder was against the side of the residence. The ladder was taken from the attached garage which was left unsecured. Police were not contacted at that time. At around 12:00AM, the homeowner heard a similar noise coming from outside of the home. The homeowner went outside a second time and observed an unknown person standing in the driveway. The homeowner yelled towards the person who immediately fled on foot. No property was reported missing. The homeowner was unable to describe the person.
