INCIDENTS
Found Human Remains – On August 15, 2012 at 7:05 p.m., police responded to the 14900 block of Yolanda Ln in Manassas (20112) for a report of found human remains. Homeowner reported to police that he was in the woods behind his residence when he found, what were believed to be, human skeletal remains. Police, detectives and crime scene technicians responded and located the remains about 150 yards into the wooded area. The remains have since been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis. At this time, detectives can only confirm that the remains are that of an adult. Sex, race, and other identifying information are currently unknown. It is also unknown at this time if foul play is expected. Investigation continues.
Armed Robbery – On August 17, 2012 at 2:15 a.m., police responded to the 7-11 located at 1445 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. Lookout: Black male, between 20 & 35 years of age, 6’0” / 190lbs, heavy build with black hair. Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 16, 2012 at 12:35 p.m., police responded to the 4200 block of Hudson River Ct in Dumfries (22025) for a shots fired call. Caller reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area. Officers responded and checked the area. No shooter was located and no property damage or injuries were reported.
Commercial Burglary – On August 16 at 7:43 a.m., police responded to the Plaza Coin Laundry located at 17993 Dumfries Shopping Plz in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11 p.m. on August 15 and 5:45 a.m. in August 16. There were no signs of forced entry into the business. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On August 13 at 2:50 p.m., police responded to the 8200 block of Vernon St in Manassas (20109) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that he was asleep in a bedroom when he heard a noise coming from a nearby window. Upon checking on the noise, the homeowner discovered an unknown man standing outside the window trying to open it. Once being noticed by the homeowner, the man fled. No entry was made and no items were reported missing. Lookout: Hispanic male, between 20 & 28 years of age – no further description available
Suspicious Person – On August 15, 2012 at 6:24 p.m., police were notified of a possible police impersonator who stopped a vehicle on August 13 in the area of Dale Blvd and Ridgefield Rd in Woodbridge (22193). The vehicle’s driver, a 48-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was traveling in the area above between noon and 1 p.m. when she was pulled over by an unknown male driving a brown colored Buick. The vehicle had white and blue flashing lights on the dash. The male walked up to the victim’s vehicle, displayed a gold colored badge and asked for the victim’s license. After looking at the license, the male told the victim to slow down before getting back into his vehicle and leaving the area. The man never identified himself as a police officer or stated why he had stopped her vehicle. Lookout: Black male, between 30 & 40 years of age, 5’8” / 200lbs, medium build with short black hair and a mustache. Last seen wearing a light colored dress shirt and tan pants. Vehicle Lookout: Brown colored Buick with white & blue lights on the top front of the dash

ARRESTS
Armed Robbery – On August 16, 2012 at 9:08 p.m., police responded to the Mapledale Plz located at 5300 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, an 18-year-old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he made arrangements to meet with a known acquaintance in the area above. Once there, the victim got into a vehicle occupied by the known acquaintance, later identified as the accused. Once inside the accused displayed a handgun and demanded money. During the encounter, a struggle ensued and the victim was able to get the firearm away from the accused and flee the vehicle. The accused was, however, able to grab the victim’s keys and cell phone. No injuries were reported. The accused was located nearby a short time later and was arrested without incident. This incident was not random. Arrested: Kenneth Mauricio MANZANO, 22, of 5541 Spangler Ln in Woodbridge. Charged with robbery and using a firearm in commission of a felony. Court date set for October 3, 2012, held WITHOUT bond.
