ARRESTS—Shooting
The investigation into the below incident revealed that the victim, Cloniger, and a friend, a juvenile male, had been entering vehicles parked in the Victory Lakes area earlier that morning. Inside one of the vehicles, the victim, now the accused, located a handgun and other items, which included two laptops, several GPS units and other small electronics. The victim then took the handgun and the other items to the male juvenile’s residence. While the victim was handling the handgun, it discharged striking him in the leg. A search of the residence resulted in the items above being recovered. Arrested: A male of Bristow, 16, charged with grand larceny, larceny of a firearm and filing a false police report. Court date unavailable, held at a juvenile detention facility. Arrested: Ira Wayne Cloniger, 19, of 18 Taylor Circle in Warrenton. Charged with grand larceny, larceny of a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and filing a false police report. Court date set for Sept. 6, 2011, bond information unavailable.
Shooting (Previously Released) 
On July 15 at 4:26 a.m., police responded to the 8900 block of Edmonston Dr. in Bristow for a reported robbery. The male victim, 19 of Bristow, initially told police he had been robbed at gunpoint by three unknown men and that as he attempted to disarm one of the men, the gun discharged and struck him in the leg. As the investigation continued, it was learned that the gunshot wound was self inflicted. He was flown to an area hospital and is expected to recover. 

INCIDENT REPORTS
Attempted Strong Armed Robbery

On July 16 at 2:50 a.m., police responded to investigate an alleged attempted robbery, which was reported to have occurred in the 18700 block of Fuller Heights Road in Triangle. The male victim, 20 of Woodbridge, reported to police he and a friend were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot of the 7-11 on Fuller Heights Road when they were approached by three unknown men. Two of the men began to punch him and check his pockets. The victim was able to put the car in reverse and leave the area. The victim received medical treatment for his injuries. The friend inside the vehicle with the victim was not injured. No property was taken. Lookout: Three black males, all reported to be 20-25 years old, around 5’10”, medium build.

ARRESTS
Strong Armed Robbery

On July 17 at 7:41 p.m., police responded to the 13500 block of Delaney Road in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 14 of Woodbridge, reported to police he was walking home in the area above when he was approached by two other male juveniles, one of whom was known to the victim – the accused. The accused and the other male threatened to beat up the victim if he didn’t hand over his money. The accused took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the victim. No injuries were reported. The accused was identified as the suspect and charged. Investigation continues. Arrested: A 13-year-old boy of Woodbridge. Charged with robbery. Court date unavailable, held at a juvenile detention facility.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm
On July 16 at 1:58 p.m., police responded to the 4600 block of Whitaker Pl. in Woodbridge for a call of shots fired. The investigation revealed that the accused had fired a shotgun at a neighbor’s dog as it ran onto a community parking lot. Other people were nearby but not injured. The dog was also uninjured. The accused was arrested and charged. Arrested: Paul Richard Ovellette, 59, of 4625 Whitaker Pl. in Woodbridge. Charged with reckless handling of a firearm. Court date unavailable, released on personal recognizance

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On July 17 at 2:21 p.m., police responded to the 5500 block of Arrowfield Trail in Haymarket for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 11 p.m. on July 14 and 7 a.m. on July 15. Entry appeared to have been made into an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. A garage door opener inside that vehicle was used to gain entry into an attached garage on the residence. No entry was made into the main residence. Two bicycles valued around $200 were reported missing.
Burglary to Business
On July 17 at 9:03 a.m., police responded to Crystal’s Beauty Academy at 14341 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge for a burglary. Owner reported to police the burglary occurred between 4 p.m. on July 16 and 6:10 a.m. on July 17. Entry appeared to have been gained through a rear glass door that had been shattered. No property was reported missing.

On July 15 at 1:26 p.m., police responded to the 2700 block of Landings Point Loop in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. on July 14 and 1 p.m. on July 15. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured front door. DVDs, two TVs and a Playstation valued around $1,500 were reported missing.

On July 14 at 8:59 p.m., police responded to the 16600 block of Fern Place in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing. 
Burglary
On July 14 at 3:10 p.m., police responded to the 4600 block of Prather Place in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. on June 26 and 10 a.m. on July 14. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear patio door that had been forced opened. An Xbox and related games valued around $2,000 were reported missing.
