PWC Police Beat 7/16/13

**ARRESTS**

Attempted Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On July 16th at 12:30AM, police responded to the 7-11 located at 14400 Gideon Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a disorderly. Officers arrived and determined that the victim, a 24 year old man of Woodbridge, was held at knifepoint by the accused, a known acquaintance. The accused further attempted to get the victim to remove money from an ATM inside the store. During the encounter, the accused swung the knife towards the victim. A store clerk witnessed the encounter and called police. No injuries were reported and no robbery of the business was attempted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with attempted armed robbery, attempted malicious wounding, and abduction

Brandishing a Machete – On July 15th at 7:51PM, police responded to the 15100 block of Cloverdale Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a disorderly. The investigation revealed that the accused had observed the victim, a 16 year old male of Woodbridge, throw a metal pole onto his property which damaged his pool. The accused then reportedly came out of his residence with a machete in hand. The victim ran to his residence nearby until police arrived. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested for brandishing the weapon and charges are pending against the victim for the damage done to the pool.

Narcotics Investigation – On June 6th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the selling of suspected cocaine with the execution of a search warrant at 13528 Delaney Rd in Woodbridge (22193). As a result of the search, suspected cocaine and evidence supporting distribution were recovered. The following arrest was also made without incident. This arrest was previously held for investigative purposes.

Charged with 2 counts of distribution of a schedule I or II narcotic

Narcotics Investigation – On June 4th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of narcotics from the Rimpal Inn located at 7399 Old Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111). A search was also conducted of the rooms involved. As a result of the investigation, suspected cocaine, prescription medications, evidence supporting distribution, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. The following arrests were also made without incident. These arrests were previously held for investigative purposes.

Antonio Terrell MURRAY, 24, of 5367 Scottsville Rd in Jeffersonton, VA

Dave Ricardo SMITH, 45, of 1423 Mt Clinton Pl in Harrisonburg, VA

All 3 men were charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, 1 count of possession with intent to distribute a schedule III narcotic, and 1 count of possession of with intent to distribute marijuana
