Malicious Wounding
On July 14 at 1:30 p.m., police responded to the 4700 block of Kelly Rd., Woodbridge, (22193) for an assault. The victim, a 41-year-old Woodbridge man, reported to police that he got into a physical altercation with a known male acquaintance at his residence in the above area. During the encounter, the accused allegedly struck the victim over the head with a blunt object. The assailant fled prior to police arrival, possibly on a bike. The victim was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Police posted a Lookout for a Black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’07”, black hair / brown eyes, who was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark colored jeans.
Shooting
On July 15 at 4:26 a.m., police responded to the 8900 block of Edmonston Dr., Bristow, (20136) for a reported robbery. The victim, a 19-year-old Bristow man, initially told police that he had been robbed at gunpoint by three unknown men, and that as he attempted to disarm one of the men, the gun discharged and struck him in the leg. As the investigation continued, it was learned that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. The victim was flown to an area hospital and is expected to recover. The nvestigation is continuing.
Strong Armed Robbery
On July 15 at 2:03 a.m., police responded to the area of Sudley Rd and Lomond Dr in Manassas (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 21-year-old Manassas man, reported to police that he was walking in the area of Westgate Plaza when an unknown man approached him from behind and struck him over the head with a glass bottle. The unknown assailant then took the victim’s briefcase which contained a laptop, camera and other items before fleeing the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital for his injuries. The victim could not provide police with a description of the assailant.
OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary
On July 14 at 8:32 a.m., police responded to the 18300 block of Candice Dr., Triangle, (22172) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door which had been forced open. Electronics and other items, including three long guns and one handgun, valued around $1,500 were reported missing.
Burglary
On July 12 at 11:30 p.m., police responded to the 13800 block of Piedmont Vista Dr., Haymarket, (20169) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a basement door which had been forced open. Electronics valued around $1,200 were reported missing.
Larcenies from Vehicles
On July 14 at 7:51 a.m., police responded to the 13300 block of Ferry Landing Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for several larcenies from vehicles. The investigation revealed that sometime between 7 a.m. on July 13 and 5:30 a.m. on July 14, an unknown person(s) entered approximately four unlocked vehicles which were parked in the above area. Loose change, a wallet and a briefcase were reported missing.
