PWC Police Beat 7/10/13

*ARRESTS**

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 10th at 1:35AM, police responded to the 16300 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries (22025) for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 26 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a boxing glove and assaulted the victim, striking her numerous times to the face. At one point, the victim tried to get away and the accused knocked her to the ground where the assault continued. The victim was eventually able to leave the residence and contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary | Arson – On July 10th at 3:10AM, police responded to the 2100 block of Potomac River Blvd in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. The fire department was already at the residence after receiving an activation from a fire alarm. An alarm was activated in the basement level of the home. A sprinkler system had extinguished the fire prior to the fire department arriving at the residence. While at the residence, fire crews observed both the front and rear doors ajar. The residence is an unoccupied, model home for a new development in the area. Officers were unable to locate any signs of forced entry into the home. Two TV’s, total valued around $1,400, were reported missing. The Fire Marshals’ Office is handling the potential arson side of this investigation.

Residential Burglary – On July 9th at 6:53PM, police responded to the River Run Apartments located at 13900 block of Hedgewood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred between April of 2013 and 4:00PM on July 9th. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. Documents were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 9th at 10:22AM, police responded to the Rolling Brook Village Apartments located in the 1800 block of Sugar Hill Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:30PM on July 6th and 2:00PM on July 8th. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 8th at 11:10PM, police responded to the Summerland Heights Apartments located at 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM and 7:15PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. A purse containing miscellaneous items and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.
