Serious Crash – On Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:24 a.m., police responded to a head-on collision on Devlin Road at University Blvd in Bristow (20136).  The striking vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala,  crossed over from the southbound lane of Devlin Rd to the northbound lane, striking a 2000 Mazda Protégé in the oncoming lane.  Both drivers and the passenger from the striking vehicle were transported by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital.  Charges are pending. The driver of the Chevrolet Impala is a 32-year-old woman from Toms Brook, VA. The driver of the Mazda Protégé is a 59-year-old man from Gainesville, VA

Fatal Crash – On Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 12:17 p,m,, police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Linton Hall Road at Limestone Road.  Investigation revealed that a 2012 Kia Optima was stopped in the intersection waiting on northbound traffic to clear so the driver could make a left turn on Limestone Road.  A 1998 Nissan Pathfinder was northbound and was unable to stop for the changing traffic light.  The driver of the Kia turned into the path of the Nissan at which point the Nissan struck the Kia on the passenger side.  The passenger in the Kia was transported by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital.  At 8:51PM the Crash Investigator was notified that she had died.  The investigation is ongoing. Deceased: Theora E. Prestera, 83 year old female of Warrenton, VA. The driver of the Kia Optima is a 56-year-old woman from Bristow, VA. The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder is a 26-year-old woman from Bristow, VA.

INCIDENTS

Robbery – On May 4, 2012 at 11:25 p.m., police responded to the 13700 block of Gran Deur Drive in Dale City (22193) for a robbery. The victim reported to police that three black males, all wearing ski masks, burst into his house while he was sitting in his living room and robbed him of cash money that he was carrying on his person.  One of the robbers was armed with what appeared to be a shotgun.  There is no further description available of the suspects.  The case remains under investigation.

Robbery – On May 4, 2012 at 8:56 p.m. police responded to the Panda Chinese restaurant, 2241 Tacketts Mill Drive, Woodbridge (22192).  The victim reported that he was exiting the restaurant to make a delivery when he was approached by two men.  The first suspect, described as a black male 15-18 years old with short black hair and wearing a black t-shirt, pointed a handgun at the victim and ordered the victim to give them all his money.  The second suspect, described as a white male 15-18 years old, then sprayed the victim in the face with a fire extinguisher before they escaped.  There is no further description of either suspect.  The victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.  The case remains under investigation.

Burglary – On May 6, 2012 at 7:44 a.m. officers responded to Malloy Hyundai, 1880 Opitz Blvd., Woodbridge (22191) after an employee called to report a business office had been broken into during the overnight hours.  A safe was forced open and cash was removed as well as components of the surveillance system.  Total losses were in excess of $1700.

ARRESTS
Assault and Battery on LEO
– On Saturday, May 5 at 9:42PM, officers observed a vehicle playing loud music on Ensbrook at Emberdale. While making contact with the occupants, the odor of alcohol and open containers was present. The driver, Jameel Washington, became very agitated and aggressive during questioning and refused to comply after being told he was under arrest. Both officers used physical force to try and control Mr. Washington, who became combative. Mr. Washington ran and after a short foot pursuit he was taken to the ground by the arresting officers. Mr. Washington continued to resist by swinging at the Officers and trying to stand.  Arrested: Jameel Washington, 35, 2851 Madeira Ct, Woodbridge, VA. Charged with DUI, Refusal, Noise Violation, Driving on a Suspended DL, A&B on a LEO x2, False ID to LEO, Possession of Schedule 1 Drugs (Methamphetamine). Court date set for June 19, 2012, held WITHOUT bond.

Disorderly Conduct / Resisting Arrest / Assault and Battery on LEO – On Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 12:27 p.m., officers were at the 10100 block of Statesboro Ct, Manassas (20109) as part of an investigation of two missing children.  Christopher Buckner refused to cooperate with the officer and became confrontational, attempting to pull away when he was told he was under arrest.  During the course of Mr. Buckner being arrested, Trey Jones attempted to interfere with the arrest by pushing the arresting officer. Arrested: Christopher Miguel Buckner, 23, 10180 Statesboro Ct, Manassas, VA. Charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Court date set for July 2, 2012, held on $2000 secured bond. Trey Alexander Jones, 19, 10180 Statesboro Ct., Manassas, VA. Charged with Assault & Battery on a LEO and Obstruction of Justice. Court date set for July 2, 2012, held on a $5000 secured bond.
