INCIDENTS

Brandishing – On Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 12:04 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Third Ave in Quantico (22134) for a brandishing. The victim, a 57-year-old woman of Quantico, reported to police that she was in the area above when she was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and ordered the victim to the ground. The victim was able to get back to her residence and contact police. The unknown man fled the area. No injuries were reported and no property was demanded or taken. Lookout: Male, unknown race, 18-22 years of age, 5’10” / 160lbs, thin build. Last seen wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, turquoise sweat pants and white shoes.

Residential Burglary – On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 9:35 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Patree Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door which had been forced open. Jewelry, a cell phone and a gaming console with related games, valued around $9,000, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:37 p.m., police responded to the 1600 block of Florida Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through a unsecured rear window. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On Friday, May 25, 2012 at 8:56 p.m, police responded to the 13100 block of Thrift Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the residence and discovered a rear sliding glass door which had been broken out. A police K-9 was utilized in a search of the residence. No one was located inside the residence. A gaming console, valued around $300, was reported missing.

ARRESTS

Malicious Wounding – On Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 4:13 p.m., police responded to the Horner Rd Commuter Lot located at 13455 Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and encountered a large crowd. A victim, a 35-year-old man of Owings Mill, VA, was located and reported to police that he had been shot in the head by a BB. The victim sustained a wound to the head and was treated at an area hospital. The injury was not life threatening and the victim since been released. The investigation revealed that the victim and a group of acquaintances were playing cricket in the parking lot. During the game, the accused, not affiliated with the group, was almost struck by one of the balls used in the game. The accused then, allegedly, fired the BB gun which struck the victim. The accused fled prior to police arrival but witnesses at the scene were able to provide information leading to his identity. The accused was located and, following an investigation, was subsequently arrested later in the day. Arrested: Nijee Mathew PENDERGRASS, 24, of 8157 Quinn Tr in Vienna. Charged with malicious wounding. Court date set for July 11, 2012, held WITHOUT bond.

Attempted Sexual Assault – On Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 5:07 a.m., police responded to investigate an attempted sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 14400 block of Gemstone Dr in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 27-year-old woman of Woodbridge, was asleep in her bedroom when she awoke to the accused, a known acquaintance, attempting to sexually assault her. The victim fought off the accused and police were called. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested. Arrested: Noornabi Mohammad GAZI, 29, of the 14400 block of Gemstone Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with attempted rape. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond.

Vehicle Pursuit / Eluding – On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 3:27 p.m., a Prince William County police officer attempted to atop a vehicle in the area of Telegraph Rd and the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192). The vehicle’s driver, later identified as the accused, ignored the officer’s emergency equipment, including lights and siren, and continued onto I-95 into Fairfax County. Virginia State Police later located and arrested the accused. Arrested: Erving Raul PABON, 22, of 7352 Old Pohick Ln in Lorton. Charged with felony eluding [PWC charge only]. Court date and bond information unavailable.

Serious Crash – On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 7:24 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of Pollo Campero located at 7913 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) for a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2010 Toyota Corolla was making a right turn into the parking lot when the driver, the accused, hit the accelerator instead of the brake. This action caused the vehicle to suddenly accelerate and the driver to lose control. The vehicle traveled up onto the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian, the victim. Following the collision the vehicle continued to Sudley Rd, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes before crossing a median and stopping near Lomond Dr. The victim was flown to an area hospital with severe injuries. The driver was subsequently charged. No injuries were reported by the driver or the passenger in the vehicle. Arrested: Maria Del Carmen ROCA PEREZ, 37, of 1302 East Maple Ave in Sterling. Charged with reckless driving. Court date unavailable, released on a summons. Identified: The pedestrian was identified as a 36-year-old woman of Manassas. The passenger of the 2010 Toyota Corolla was identified as a 52-year-old woman of Orlando, FL.

Narcotics Investigation – On Friday, May 25, 2012, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation into the selling of marijuana with the execution of a search warrant at 3416 Brahms Dr in Woodbridge (22193). As a result of the investigation, marijuana, evidence supporting distribution, a handgun and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. During the course of the investigation, the following arrests were made without incident. Arrested: Harry Timothy HIGHTOWER, 21, of 14070 Big Crest Ln #306 in Woodbridge. Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a concealed weapon. Court date set for July 20, 2012, held on a $5,000 secured bond. Arrested: Henry Marvell GAITHER, 25, of 3416 Brahms Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Court date set for August 18, 2012, released on a summons. Arrested: (Juvenile) A 16 year old male of Woodbridge. Charged with possession of marijuana. Court date set for August 18, 2012, released on a summons.
