INCIDENT REPORTS
Malicious Wounding
On May 25 at 1:28 a.m., police responded to the 16700 block of Shingle Oak Dr in Woodbridge for an assault. The male victim, 26 of Woodbridge, reported to police he and a known acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and swung it towards the victim, striking him in the arm. The victim was able to get the knife from the accused. The accused fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim was treated for minor injuries. Investigation continues.
Attempted Armed Robbery
On May 24 at 10:31 p.m., police responded to the area of Colchester Road and East Longview Dr. in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 29 of Woodbridge, reported to police he was walking in the area above when he encountered two unknown men. One of the men wore a mask and brandished a handgun demanding money. The victim did not have money and the men fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported. Lookout: Two black males. First male, unknown height, weight or age, thin build, last seen wearing a white shirt and mask – in possession of the handgun. Second male, unknown height, weight or age, heavy build, last seen wearing a dark colored shirt – no further description

ARRESTS
Burglary
May 24 at 8:47 a.m., police responded to the 3600 block of Dahlgren Pl in Dumfries for a burglary in progress. A witness reported to police an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was seen entering a residence in the above area through a rear window. Police arrived quickly and encountered the accused inside the residence. The accused fled from police on foot; the accused attempted to enter another residence, later determined to be his residence, to evade capture. The accused refused several commands from police and was tasered. The accused was then taken into custody without further incident and treated at an area hospital for neck pain. At the time of the arrest, the accused provided police with a false name, which he then used to sign official documents. The true identity of the accused was later determined and additional charges were placed. Arrested: Michael Jermaine Moore, 39, of 3631 Dahlgren Pl. in Dumfries. Charged with burglary, destruction of property, resisting arrest, providing false identification to police and two counts of forgery of a public document. Court date unavailable, held without bond

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary
On May 25 at 5:36 a.m., police responded to the 13700 block of Keelingwood Circle in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 9:30 p.m. on May 24 and 5:30 a.m. on May 25. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked front door. An XBox valued around $350 was reported missing.
