ARRESTS
Felony Child Neglect – On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 5:54 p.m., police responded to the 14700 block of Endsley Tn in Woodbridge (22193) for a child neglect. Caller reported to police that they had located a 4-year-old boy running down the street wearing only a diaper. Police arrived and were unable to locate the child’s residence. The child was then transported to the Garfield Station and after over 2 hours, the accused, a known family member, contacted the police to report the child missing. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The child was unharmed and currently in the custody of other family members. Arrested: Ricky Lee ROUCKA, 48, of 14738 Endsley Turn in Woodbridge (22193). Charged with felony child neglect. Court date and bond unavailable.
Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:32 p.m., police responded to the Best Western located at 14619 Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a disorderly. Police made contact with a room occupied by several individuals, including the accused. Officers informed the group that they had to leave, at which point, the accused refused and grabbed the officer’s arm. A struggle ensued and the suspect was eventually arrested. No injuries were reported. Arrested: Steven Richard HENNING, 51, of 427 S Horne in Mesa, Arizona. Charged with assault & battery on LEO and resisting arrest. Court date set for July 09, 2012, held on a $7,500 secured bond.
Attempted Robbery - On Sunday, May 19, 2012 at 11:39 p.m., police responded to the 3200 block of Kira Ct in Triangle (22172) for a suspicious person call. The caller, a 22-year-old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was sent to deliver pizzas to an address in the above area. When he arrived, he observed all of the lights were off and the residence appeared unoccupied. The caller then attempted to reach the customer to confirm the address, at which point, a rear light to the residence illuminated. At the same time, a neighbor was calling police in reference to a suspicious person in the backyard of the same residence. The unknown suspect never made contact with the original caller. After a short time period, another suspicious person call was dispatched in the same area involving a suspect matching the same description as the previous call. Police responded and detained the accused, a juvenile. After an extensive investigation, it was determined that the accused was planning to rob the delivery man. Arrested: (Juvenile). A 15-year-old male of Dumfries. Charged with attempted robbery. Court date unavailable, held at a Juvenile Detention Facility
Brandishing – On Sunday, May 19, 2012 at 9:04 a.m., police responded to investigate a brandishing which was reported to have occurred in the area of Dale Blvd and Mapledale Ave in Woodbridge (22193). The victim, a 41 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection above when an unknown vehicle pulled behind him. The victim stated at that time he had the top to his vehicle down. The passenger of the unknown vehicle, later identified as the accused, aimed, what was believed to be, a firearm out of the passenger side window and pulled the trigger. The victim was struck in the back of the head by a BB. The victim confronted the occupants of the vehicle who sped off. The victim was able to provide officers with a license plate of the suspect vehicle. Officers were able to locate and arrest the accused who was determined to be a juvenile. Arrested: (Juvenile). A 17-year-old male of Brandywine, MD. Charged with brandishing and assault & battery. Court date unavailable, held at a Juvenile Detention Facility.
Brandishing – On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 12:37 a.m., police responded to the area of Telegraph Rd and Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (221992) for a brandishing. The victim, a 29-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was driving in the area above when a vehicle pulled up next to them occupied by a known acquaintance, the accused. The accused displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim’s because of a past encounter. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant against the accused who was located and arrested on May 20, 2012. Arrested: Christopher Michael GYAMFI, 22, of 15546 Travailer Ct in Woodbridge. Charged with brandishing. Court date and bond information unavailable.
Brandishing – On Friday, May 18, 2012 at 5:23 p.m., police responded to in the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a brandishing. The victim’s, a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man – both of Woodbridge, reported to police that they were driving in the area above when a vehicle pulled up next to them occupied by a known acquaintance, the accused. The accused displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victims because of a past encounter. No shots were fired. Officers were able to locate and arrest the accused without incident. Arrested: Owen Anthony THOMPSON, 25, of 4400 Kellogg Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of brandishing a firearm. Court date unavailable, held on a $10,000 secured bond.
Narcotics Investigation – On Thursday, May 17, 2012, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded an investigation into the selling of cocaine with the following arrest which was made in the parking lot of the Quality Inn located at 1109 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191). As detectives were attempting to place the accused under arrest, he actively resisted leading to a brief struggle. As a result of the arrest, a handgun, cocaine, marijuana and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. Arrested: Landry Joseph JOHNSON, 32 – no fixed address. Charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute of a schedule I or II narcotic [cocaine], possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with narcotics, possession of a concealed firearm and resisting arrest. Court date set for July 20, 2012, held WITHOUT bond.
INCIDENTS
Malicious Wounding – On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 3:22 p.m., police responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 23-year-old man of Woodbridge, had been stabbed to the arm behind the 7-11 in the above area. It is currently unknown how the victim sustained the stab wound, however the incident appears to involve a known acquaintance(s) of the victim. The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continues.
Strong Armed Robbery – On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 12:06 a.m., police responded to the BP Gas Station located at 17400 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, a 79-year-old man of Stafford, reported to police that he was getting into his vehicle when he was approached by three unknown men. The men assaulted the victim and took his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault. Lookout: 3 black males, all reported to be between 20 & 25 years of age, around 5’08” / 200lbs, heavy builds. All were last seen wearing black long sleeve shirt and black pants
Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle – On Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:15 p.m., police responded to the 12300 block of Oakwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a shooting into an occupied vehicle call. The driver, a 66-year-old man, reported to police that he was driving on Oakwood Dr when he heard a pop. Upon investigating the noise, the driver discovered that there was a small hole in a window which was cracked. Officers were able to locate a juvenile suspect, a 12-year-old boy of Woodbridge, who was determined to have shot a BB rifle at the moving vehicle. Charges are pending. Investigation continues.
Residential Burglary – On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 8:49 p.m., police responded to the 13600 block of Cridercrest Pl in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:30 and 7:50 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A laptop, valued around $800, was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 8:56 p.m., police responded to the 16400 block of Radcliffe Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3 p.m. on March 14, 2012 and 9 p.m. on May 14, 2012. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Jewelry, valued around $10,000, was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On Friday, May 18, 2012 at 6 p.m., police responded to the 6100 block of River Forest Dr in Manassas (20110) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a front door which had been forced opened. Jewelry, of unknown value, was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On Friday, May 18, 2012 at 5:35 p.m, police responded to the 4300 Ashgrove Dr in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. A TV and 2 gaming consoles, valued around $1,300, were reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On May Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2:52 p.m., police responded to the 11100 block of Stonebrook Dr in Manassas (20112) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:40 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door which had been forced opened. Jewelry, valued around $12,000, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and miscellaneous items were reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 11:38 a.m., police responded to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 10 p.m. on May 19, 2012 and 10 a.m. on May 20, 2012, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence through an unsecured rear window. The unknown suspect(s) broke an exterior screen then opened the window. No entry is believed to have been gained into the residence and no items were reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On Friday, May 18, 2012 at 8:34 a.m., police responded to the 2800 block of Cambridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that she was asleep inside the residence when she heard a loud noise. Upon investigating, it appeared someone attempted to enter the residence through a basement window. No entry is believed to have been gained and no items were reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 12:49 p.m., police responded to the 1400 block of California St in Woodbridge (22191) for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that he had just arrived home when he was informed by a neighbor that an unknown man was at his residence knocking on the door. When the homeowner observed the door, it appeared as if the man attempted to pry the door open. No entry was gained. A lawn mower, valued around $125, which was on the front lawn, was reported missing.
