PWC Police Beat 5/13/11

INCIDENT REPORTS
Armed Robberies – Possibly Related:
On May 12 at 11:51 p.m., police responded to the 7-11 located at 7868 Sudley Rd in Manassas for a robbery. The clerk reported to police that an unknown man had entered the store, displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing the store. No injuries were reported.
At 3:13 a.m., on May 13, police responded to the 7-11 located at 10740 Coverstone Dr. in Manassas for another robbery. The clerk reported to police that, again, an unknown man had entered the store, approached the counter and displayed a handgun. The man demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. No injuries were reported in this case either.
Both clerks gave a similar description of the suspect. Lookout: White male, between 20 and 30, 5’08” to 6’0”, thin build, bushy goatee. In the first robbery, the suspect was described as wearing a wearing a light colored shirt, khaki pants and sunglasses. During the second reported robbery, the suspect was described as wearing navy blue sweat pants and a jacket with white stripes down the side.

ARRESTS
Sexual Battery:
On May 12, police began an investigation into an alleged sexual battery which was reported to have occurred in the 14600 block of Frisco Ct in Dale City. The investigation revealed that the female victim, now 18 of Woodbridge, had been sexually assaulted by the accused, a family relative, for over a year. The accused was arrested without further incident and charged. Arrested: Michael Ocasio, 20, of 14600 Frisco Ct. in Dale City. Charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of object sexual penetration.  Court date unavailable, held without bond.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary:
On May 12 at 6:20 p.m., police responded to the 16000 block of Sheringham Way in Gainesville for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between midnight April 23 and 5 p.m. May 11. There were no signs of forced entry. Entry is believed to have been made through an opened/unlocked garage door. Miscellaneous equipment valued around $800 was reported missing. 

Burglary:
On May 12 at 2:48 p.m., police responded to the 3000 block of Antrim Circle in Dumfries for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through an open window. Jewelry valued around $1,000 was reported missing.

Attempted Burglary:
On May 12 at 12:25 p.m., police responded to the 15100 block of Georgia Rd in Woodbridge for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police an unknown man was attempting entry into her residence through the front door. The homeowner stated she heard a noise coming from her front door. Upon investigating the noise, the man fled the area on foot. No entry was made into the residence and no items were reported missing. Lookout: male, unknown race, between 18 and 25, 5’08” / 150 lbs., medium build, black hair; last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue T-shirt.
