ARRESTS

Murder / Child Abuse – On March 2, 2012 police obtained warrants for the accused stemming from an incident reported in May of 2010. On May 9, 2010, police and medical units responded to the 4500 block of Kingsley Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for an unresponsive child. The victim, a 3 month old baby boy, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The accused reported to police that she was sleeping in the same bed with the victim when she awoke sometime later in the night to find the infant unresponsive. It was later determined that the accused had smoked marijuana and consumed alcohol prior to going to sleep with the victim. Following an extensive forensic review, the investigation revealed multiple risk factors which lead to the child’s death, which included poor prenatal care, no well child care, no follow-up treatment for an infection previous diagnosed and an unsafe sleeping environment. Based on the review, the lack of necessary care required to be provided by the accused resulted in the victim’s death. On March 2, 2012, the accused was arrested on the below charges without incident. Arrested: Tyesha Monique GREEN, 22, of 7590 Quail Run Ln in Manassas. Charged with murder and abuse and neglect of a child. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond

Possession of a Concealed Weapon by an Incarcerated Prisoner – On March 1, 2012 at 4:16 p.m., police responded to the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) for a report of a prisoner with a gun. The investigation revealed that the accused, BRAXTON, had concealed a small handgun in his rectum prior to his arrest and subsequent transfer to the facility.

Detention center staff was alerted to the presence of the handgun and a search was conducted. The gun was found without incident and secured. BRAXTON is currently being incarcerated in connection to burglary charges, placed by Prince William County Police, relating from an incident on Feb. 27, 2012 in the 3300 block of Ladino Ct and to an incident reported on Feb. 7, 2012 in the 15200 block of Warbler Ct. The accused was subsequently charged. The handgun located in this incident was one which had been reported missing during the Ladino Ct burglary. Arrested: Brandon Delonte BRAXTON, 18, currently housed in the Adult Detention Center. Charged with possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon by a prisoner and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond.

Strong Armed Robbery / Destruction of Property – On March 3, 2012 at 8:20 p.m. police responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Panther Pride Dr in Dumfries (22026) for a disorderly. The victim, an 18-year-old woman of Spotsylvania, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were traveling on Jefferson Davis Hwy in the area above when a verbal altercation ensued. During the encounter, the accused attempted to strike the victim several times and also attempted to take money from the victim’s purse. At one point the victim attempted to call someone for help, at which time, the accused forcibly grabbed the phone and submerged it in water. The victim stopped the vehicle and accused got out and began walking up Jefferson Davis Hwy where police located her. The accused was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. Arrested: Dominique Arielle DUNCAN, 20, of 2235 Diloreta Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with robbery and destruction of property. Court date unavailable, held on a $2,000 secured bond. 

Narcotics Investigation – On March 3, 2012, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation into the selling of narcotics with the execution of a search warrant at 2828 Cambridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192). During the search, marijuana, a handgun and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. The following arrest was also made without incident. Arrested: Demetrius McKinley PERKINS, 32, of 2828 Cambridge Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm with narcotics and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Court date set for May 11, 2012, bond information unavailable

INCIDENTS

Armed Robbery – On March 4 at 12:42 p.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, a 30-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun and struck the victim in the head. The men took the victim’s cell phone and wallet, containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to provide police with a description of the armed suspect. Lookout was posted for a black male, between 18 & 24 years of age, thin build, armed with a handgun and last seen wearing all dark clothing and a tan hooded jacket,

Strong Armed Robbery – On March 4, 2012 at 3:15 p.m., police responded to the 14600 block of Bakersfield St in Woodbridge (22193) for a robbery. The victim, a 17-year-old male of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the above area when he was approached by three unknown men. The men assaulted the victim and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area. Minor injuries were reported.

1st male was 5’08” / 160lbs, medium build with black hair
Last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red scarf and dark colored jeans

2nd male was 5’08” / 140lbs, thin build, with black hair
Last seen wearing a ski mask and light colored jeans

3rd male was 5’08” / 140lbs, medium build, with black afro style hair
Last seen wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans

Burglary – On March 4, 2012 at 5:20 a.m, police responded to the 16500 block of Sherwood Pl in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3 p.m. on March 2 and 5:15 a,.m. on March 4. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured rear sliding glass door. A gaming console, valued around $175, was reported missing.

Burglary – On March 3, 2012 at 7:58 p.m., police responded to the 4100 block of Granby Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30 a .m. and 7:50 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a front door which was forced opened. A laptop, cell phone, camera and other items, valued around $1,300, were reported missing.

Burglary – On March 3, 2012 at 5:35 p.m., police responded to the 14300 block of Fullerton Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between Noon on Feb. 18, 2012 and 7:30 p.m. on March 3,2012. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured rear window. No items were reported missing, however, several rooms had been ransacked.

Burglary – On March 2, 2012 at 3:12 p.m., police responded to the 13600 block of Lynn St in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:40 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 1, 2012. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked door. A laptop, cell phone and other items, valued around $1,200, were reported missing.

Attempted Burglary – On March 2 at 11:37 a.m., police responded to the 14700 block of Bristow Rd in Manassas (20112) for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 11 and 11:37 a.m., an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence through a rear window which had been removed. No entry is believed to have been made into the residence and no items were reported missing.
