ARRESTS

Burglary / Destruction of Property – On Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 6:11 a.m., police responded to the Vulcan Materials Company located at 13260 Marina Way in Woodbridge (22191) for a destruction of property call. The investigation revealed that the accused forced entry into a trailer used by the company at the site. Once inside the trailer, the accused located a set of keys to a company truck parked in the lot. The accused then attempted to leave the parking lot, however, discovered the lot had been secured and locked. At this point, the accused used the truck to ram the locked gate open and drove to another nearby parking lot where police encountered him. The accused was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Minor injuries were reported by the accused who was treated at an area hospital. Damage to the gate was estimated around $100. Minor damage was reported to the company truck. Arrested: Joseph Michael SHARKEY, 32, of 15373 Gatehouse Tr in Woodbridge, who was charged with burglary, grand larceny auto, destruction of property, driving under the influence of alcohol – 3rd offense in 10 years, refusal to submit to a breath test and driving on a revoked license. Court date unavailable, held on a $3,000 secured bond.

INCIDENTS

Assault by Mob – On Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 4:31 p.m., police responded to the 4800 block of Kellogg Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for an assault. The caller reported to police that she intervened in a fight between the victim, a 16-year-old male of Woodbridge, and three other male juveniles. The investigation revealed that the victim was playing basketball in the area above when he was approached by three juvenile males, all known acquaintances. The males proceeded to repeatedly strike the accused causing him to go unconscious. The males continued to assault the victim until being chased off by the caller. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police were able to identify two of the three juveniles. Charges are pending. Investigation continues. 

Attempted Strong Armed Robbery – On Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:36 p.m, police responded to the area of Bisbee Ct and Bixby Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for an attempted robbery. The victim, a 19-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the area above when she was approached by two unknown men. The men attempted to take the victim’s purse but she was able to run away. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. Police posted a Lookout for two black males, both reported to be between 17 & 23 years of age. The first male was 5’08” / 160lbs, medium build with short black hair. Last seen wearing a white t-shirt, no further description. The second male was 5’06” / 140lbs, thin build with short black hair. Last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, no further description.

Burglary – On Friday, March 23, 2012 at 7:10 p.m, police responded to the 16500 block of Royal Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear basement level door which had been pried opened. A computer and monitor, valued around $800, were reported missing.

Burglary to a Business – On Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10:57 a.m., police responded to the Crosby Crab Company located at 14718 Bristow Rd in Manassas (20112) for a burglary. Business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred around 3 a.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a side window which had been broken out. A pack of beer, valued around $10, was reported missing.
