ARRESTS
Grand Larceny – On Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. police responded to the 11200 block of Reid Ln in Nokesville (20181) for a larceny in progress. Homeowner reported to police that he was leaving his property when he discovered two unknown men, later identified as the accused, on his property removing copper wire. Once discovered, the men fled the area in a vehicle. The homeowner followed the suspect vehicle which ended up crashing into a tree in the area of Morla Ln. At this point one of the accused, QUILLEN, fled on foot while the second suspect, a 16-year-old male juvenile, remained at the crash scene and was detained without further incident. QUILLEN was determined to be wanted on unrelated charges out of another jurisdiction.
A police K-9 and helicopter were called to assist in the search for QUILLEN which was unsuccessful. Property reported missing in this incident, which valued $12,000, was recovered, however, damaged. The homeowner also reported damage to his property which was estimated around $1,000. The next day, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, police received information that QUILLEN was at an address on Fitzwater Dr where he was located and arrested without further incident. Charges are pending against the juvenile who was determined to have also been the driver of the suspect vehicle. Arrested: Joshua Ross QUILLEN, 24, of 14016 Fitzwater Dr in Nokesville. He has been charged with grand larceny, possession with intent to sell stolen property, trespassing, contributing to the delinquency and conspiracy to commit a larceny. Driving under the Influence / Felony Eluding – On Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at 3:12 a.m, Prince William County police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Sudley Rd and Godwin Dr in Manassas (20110). The driver, later identified as the accused, ignored the officer’s emergency equipment, which included lights and siren, and continued into Manassas City. Once in the area of Haag St and Oakenshaw Dr the accused lost control of the vehicle and struck a mailbox and a parked, unoccupied vehicle which rolled and struck another parked vehicle and a garage door. At that point, the vehicle was unable to be moved and the accused was taken into custody without further incident. The accused was determined to be under the influence of medication. No injuries were reported. Manassas City police responded and assisted county units at this scene. Arrested: (Juvenile) a 16-year-old male of Manassas. Charged with driving under the influence of drugs [medication], felony eluding and a curfew violation. Court date set for April 06, 2012. He was released to a guardian.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 at 4:27 p.m. police responded to the 10800 block of Gambril Dr in Manassas (20109) for a shots fired call. The accused called police after he had accidently fired a handgun in his apartment. The bullet was discovered to have traveled into the apartment above. No injuries were reported. The accused was arrested without incident. Arrested: Joseph Ryan KONCZAL, 22, of 10873 Gambril Dr#21 in Manassas. Charged with reckless handling of a firearm. Court date unavailable, released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
Narcotics Possession – On Monday, Feb. 20, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation into the selling of marijuana with the execution of two search warrants. The searches were conducted at 5371 Tortoise Pl in Woodbridge (22193) and at 12975 Queens Chapel Dr in Woodbridge (22193). As a result of the searches, marijuana, a handgun and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. The following arrest was also made without incident. Arrested: David Mahmood ADEL, 24, of 12975 Queens Chapel Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Court date set for April 13, 2012, bond information unavailable.
