Abduction | Residential Burglary *ARREST – On January 31st, warrants were served on the accused in reference to the abduction and burglary incident reported at the Super 8 Motel located at 17400 Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries on January 29th. The accused turned himself in police at the Garfield District Station in Woodbridge.

Charged with abduction, burglary and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute

Abduction | Residential Burglary (Previously Released) – On January 29th at 11:35PM, police responded to the Super 8 Motel located at 17400 Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries (22026) for an initial report of a robbery. The victim, a 32 year old female of Woodbridge, reported to police an unknown male, later identified as the accused, forcibly entered her room, locked the door and would not allow her to leave the room or call police. The victim was ultimately able to call police while the accused was distracted. The accused fled the motel when he heard the victim talking with police. The victim was able to later identify the accused as an occupant of another room located in the motel and a witness was able to identify the accused as the male who entered the victim’s room. Marijuana and evidence linking the accused to the incident were found by police while attempting to locate the accused. Warrants were obtained for the accused.
**INCIDENTS**
Crash – Fatality | Hit & Run – On January 31st at 10:23AM, police responded to the 18400 block of Woodland Dr in Triangle (22172) for an unconscious subject. Caller reported to police that the victim, an adult male, was found in the roadway unresponsive. Rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he died. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the roadway, when it is believed, that he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. Currently, investigators do not have any information on the striking vehicle.

The victim has been identified as Joseph Patrick LYONS, 59, of Triangle

Indecent Exposure – On January 31st at 3:13PM, police responded to Vantage Dr and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an indecent exposure. The victim, a 15 year old female of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the area above when she heard an unknown man yell something from behind her. When the victim turned, she saw the man pull down his pants and expose himself. The victim immediately turned back around and continued walking to her residence where police were contacted. The area was checked by officers and no one was located. It is believed the man left in an unknown vehicle, possibly a 2dr silver Lexus.

White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, with a medium build and short blonde hair
Residential Burglary – On January 31st at 8:30PM, police responded to the 2800 block of Burgundy Pl in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM and 7:45PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked rear window. A laptop, monitor, 3 gaming console and other property, valued around $1,600, were reported missing.
Residential Burglary –On January 28th at 6:30PM, police responded to the 3500 block of Emory Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:35AM and 3:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An iPad, valued around $300, was reported missing.
**ARRESTS**
Strong Armed Robbery – On January 31st at 2:37AM, police responded to the 13100 block of Marina Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 28 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was confronted in the area above by the accused, a known acquaintance, over a past dispute. A verbal argument escalated in a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused forcibly grabbed the victim’s purse and removed an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before leaving the area. No injuries were reported. The accused was eventually located and, following an investigation, was subsequently arrested.
