INCIDENTS
Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

On Jan. 1, 2012 at 12:51 AM, police responded to the 1600 block of Hylton Ave in Woodbridge (22191) for a shooting into an occupied dwelling call. The homeowner reported to police that at around 12:10 AM, he heard the sound of glass breaking in another part of the residence. Upon investigating the noise, the homeowner discovered that a bullet had broken out and penetrated through a window of the residence. No injuries were reported.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm
On Jan. 1, 2012 at 1:32 AM, police responded to the 16000 block of Crest Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for a shots fired call. Caller reported to police that several gun shots were heard in the area. Police arrived and checked the surrounding neighborhood. No suspects were located. A vacant, unoccupied residence in the 15900 block of Crest Dr was struck multiple times. No injuries or other property damage were reported.

Armed Robbery
On Dec. 29, 2011 at 6:28 PM, police responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Ensor Ct and Ensbrook Ln in Woodbridge (22193) on Dec. 28 at 7 p.m.

The victim, a 22-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man and asked for money. When the victim refused, the man implied he had a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the victim before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

Burglary
On Jan. 1, 2012 at 1:29 AM, police responded to the 4700 block of Ketterman Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that he had just arrived home and heard a noise from an upper level of the residence. Upon investigating the noise, he observed an unknown man inside of the residence. Once seen, the man left the residence. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence and no items were reported missing.

Burglary
On Dec. 29, 2011 at 8:02 PM, police responded to the 12700 block of Wood Hollow Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 28. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. Jewelry and other items, valued around $3,800, were reported missing.

ARRESTS
Malicious Wounding /Domestic Related

On Dec. 31, 2011 at 1:07 PM, police responded to the 1500 block of Ranger Lp in Woodbridge (22191) for a domestic. The victim, a 41-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted her 3-year-old daughter before retrieving a knife and cut the victim to the arm. The victim sustained minor injuries; the child was not injured.

The accused was arrested without incident. Arrested: Maame KONADU, 42, of the 1500 block of Ranger Lp in Woodbridge. Charged with malicious wounding and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond

Attempted Malicious Wounding
On Dec. 30, 2011 at 9:46 AM, police responded to investigate a vehicle tampering which was reported to have occurred in the 4100 block of Wind Flower Ct in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the accused had cut the brake line on a vehicle belonging to the victim, a 23-year-old woman and known acquaintance of the accused.

Unaware of the vehicle’s condition, the victim and a 2-year-old male child, attempted to drive the vehicle when the brakes became unresponsive. The victim was able to stop the vehicle safely without causing damage. The accused was determined to be the suspect responsible for the incident and was charged. No injuries were reported.

Arrested: Kevin Christian REILLY, 36, of 14063 Fallbrook Ln in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of attempted malicious wounding, vehicle tampering and destruction of property. Court date unavailable, held on a $5,000 secured bond.

Burglary
On Dec. 31, 2011 at 10:52 AM, police responded to the 1700 block of Shady River Ct in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. A witness reported to police that two unknown men, later identified as the below listed accused individuals, exited a residence in the above area and got into a vehicle. The witness was able to provide police with a vehicle description. Police located the vehicle in the area of Potomac Plaza where a traffic stop was conducted. There, the two accused men were taken into custody without incident. The suspects appeared to have made entry into the residence by prying open the front door. Items reported missing from the burglary, including 2 laptops, an iPod and other items - valued around $1,600, were recovered. The arrests related to this incident were previously held for investigative reasons.

Arrested: Derrick Arthur COUNTS, 23, of 1401 NE Virginia Ave in D.C. and Stephon Eugene EDWARDS, 24, of 5373 NE Blaine St in D.C. Both were charged with burglary, grand larceny and credit card larceny. Court date and bond information unavailable
