Crash – Fatality – On January 19th at 9:27AM, police responded to the 4100 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant, of a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder was leaving the bank in the area above when he suffered an apparent medical emergency. The vehicle continued forward and ran off the side of the parking lot and into an embankment. The driver was transported to an area hospital where he died later that afternoon.

**ARRESTS**
Sexual Assault – On January 20th, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 15000 block of Holleyside Dr in Dumfries (22025) on January 19th. The investigation revealed that the victims, an 8 year old girl and a 10 year old girl – both of Woodbridge, were at the residence of the accused, a known acquaintance, when both were sexually assaulted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Felony Child Neglect | Felony Eluding – On January 18th at 3:20PM, a Prince William County police officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22026) for a traffic violation. The driver ignored the officer’s emergency equipment and proceeded onto I-95 northbound. Officers followed the vehicle as the driver proceeded onto the HOV flyover ramp, near the Opitz Blvd interchange, and towards oncoming HOV southbound traffic. The driver was stopped by lowered barriers at the end of the ramp. At that point, the driver, identified as the accused, fled on foot across northbound interstate traffic and into the wooded area adjacent to the interstate. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the accused, who was not located. Inside the vehicle were 3 other adults and 2 small children, two 2 year old boys, all were unharmed. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained against the accused. The accused was arrested on January 20th in Fairfax County.

Armed Robbery – On January 19th at 8:58PM, police responded to the Food Mart located at 17445 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that 2 unknown, masked men entered the store where 1 of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money. The second suspect took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the register before both men fled the area on foot. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the suspects, who were not located. No injuries were reported.

Strong Armed Robbery – On January 18th at 3:49PM, police responded to the 13100 block of Quick Pl in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. The victim, a 68 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he had just arrived home when he was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

Attempted Armed Robbery – On January 19th at 5:43PM, police responded to the 4600 block of Whitaker Pl in Woodbridge (22193) for an attempted robbery. The victim, an 18 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and a friend were in the area above when they were approached by 2 unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun and fired a round into the ground. The men demanded the victim’s property and when the victim refused, the suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. The victim was unable to describe the suspects other than reporting that both were black males.
Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On January 20th at 11:59PM, police responded to the 3300 block of Vineland Pl in Dumfries (22026) for a shoots fired call. Homeowner reported to police that he was on an upper level of the residence when he heard multiple loud bangs coming from a lower level. Upon checking out the noise, the homeowner discovered 3 bullet holes in his wall. No suspects were located. Witnesses reported seeing a small, black sedan leaving the area following the shots being fired. No injuries were reported.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On January 18th at 8:38AM, police responded to the 14600 block of Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a shots fired call. Caller reported to police that between 5:30AM and 6:00AM, he heard several gun shots in the area above. No suspects were seen. No injuries or property damage were reported.
Residential Burglary – On January 20th at 8:45PM, police responded to the 12200 block of Marlboro Ct in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that he was in an upper level of his residence when he heard a noise coming from a lower level. Upon checking out the noise, the homeowner discovered an unknown man gaining entry through a window. The homeowner confronted the man, who then fled the area. There were no injuries and no property was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On January 18th at 1:53PM, police responded to the 11900 block of Holly View Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30PM and 1:15PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear door. No property was reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 18th at 1:08PM, police responded to the 3300 block of Rollingwood Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that she was on an upper level of her residence when she heard a noise coming from a lower level. The noise appeared to have been an unknown person(s) attempting entry into the residence through the front door. The homeowner’s dog is believed to have scared off the suspect(s). No entry was gained into the residence and no property was reported missing.
