PWC Police Beat 11/25/11

INCIDENT REPORTS
BurglaryOn Nov. 21 at 11:40 a.m., police responded to the 3600 block of Freeport Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary to a vacant home. Property owner reported to police the burglary occurred between noon Nov. 15 and 11:30 p.m. Nov. 21. Entry appeared to have been made through the front door, which had been pried opened. Copper piping valued around $3,000 was reported missing.

ARRESTS
Strong Armed Robbery
On Nov. 22 at 2:16 p.m., police responded to the Sax 5th Avenue – Potomac Mills Mall at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge for a robbery. Store security reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, had entered the store, grabbed a pair of shoes valued around $90 and fled the store. When confronted by security, the accused pushed the officer and continued running. Police were able to locate the accused and arrest him after a brief foot pursuit.
Arrested: Devonta Rodney Byrd JR, 20, of 7950 Quail Run Ln in Manassas. Charged with robbery. Court date set for January 30, 2012, held without bond.
