Death Investigation – On November 5th at 7:04PM, police responded to the area of Cherry Hill Rd and the railroad tracks in Dumfries (22026) for a person struck by a train. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 44 year old man of Woodbridge, was seen standing on the tracks as a VRE train was approaching. The victim did not move out of the train’s path and was subsequently struck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity will be released upon notification of the next of kin. Investigation continues.
Armed Robbery – On November 5th at 11:04PM, police responded to the Quality Inn located at 1109 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, an 18 year old woman of California, reported to police that she and another female were in a room of the hotel with 2 unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money and other property from the victim. After discovering there was no money or any property to take in the room, the suspect struck the victim in the head with the handgun before both men left the room. Minor injuries were reported.

Armed Robbery – On November 4th at 1:17AM, police responded to the Soldier’s Ridge Cir and Coverstone Dr in Manassas (20109) for a robbery. The victim, a 33 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he and a male acquaintance were walking in the area above when they were approached by 2 unknown men. Both men displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The men took the victim’s wallet containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On November 3rd at 12:00PM, police responded to the 8400 block of Charnwood Ct in Manassas (20111) for a destruction of property. Homeowner reported to police that he discovered broken glass in his kitchen and what appeared to be a bullet hole. No injuries were reported.
Commercial Burglary – On November 5th at 4:14AM, police responded to the Dunkin Donuts located at 2201 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime during the overnight hours. Entry appeared to have been made through the drive thru window which had been forced open. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On November 4th 10:15PM, police responded to the 12700 block of Gold Cup Tl in Manassas (20112) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00PM on October 31st and 9:30PM on November 4th. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Jewelry, valued around $1,600, was reported missing.
**ARRESTS**
Commercial Burglaries – On November 2nd at 1:37AM, police responded to Lake Ridge Auto Care located at 12234 Touchstone Cir in Woodbridge (22192) for an alarm. Officers arrived at the location and discovered a broken window on an overhead garage door. As officers were conducting a check of the property, an unknown man exited the business. When challenged by officers, the man fled on foot. Following a short foot pursuit, the man was apprehended and identified as the accused. Officers learned that while inside the business, the accused took two sets of keys to 2 different vehicles which were parked in the lot behind the business. Upon further investigation, the accused was also connected to 2 additional burglaries which occurred at the Minnieland Daycare located at 4290 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge. The first burglary occurred on October 24th (see previously release below) in which one of the daycare’s vans was reported stolen and later set on fire. This investigation was conducted jointly with the Fire Marshal’s Office. The second burglary occurred during the early morning hours on November 2nd prior to the Lake Ridge Auto burglary. In the most recent burglary on November 2nd, the accused entered the daycare through an unsecured window. No property was reported missing. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested in connection to all 3 incidents.

Charged with [in connection to the October 24th Minnieland burglary] 1 count of burglary, 1 count of grand larceny and 1 count of arson [Fire Marshal charge]

Commercial Burglary (Previously Released) – On October 24th at 10:50AM, police responded to the Minnieland Day School located at 4290 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192) for a burglary. Staff reported to police that sometime over night, an unknown person(s) entered the business through an unlocked window after cutting through a screen. One of the facility’s vans was reported stolen, in addition to, a gaming console with games and equipment, valued around $500. At 8:48PM, police responded to the the2400 block of East Longview Dr for a vehicle fire. Fire and Rescue had extinguished the fire which was discovered to have involved the stolen van. The van was determined to be a total loss of about $43,000. No injuries were reported. Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit and the Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
Brandishing a Firearm – On November 5th at 1:00PM, police responded to the 3500 block of Melrose Pl in Triangle (22172) for a brandishing. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused brandished a handgun and pointed it towards the victim and a male acquaintance, a 31 year old man of Woodbridge. No shots were fired and the accused left without further incident. No injuries were reported. The accused returned to the residence after police were on scene where he was detained without incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
