Attempted Armed Robbery
On Oct. 25 at 8:22 p.m., police responded to the 8000 block of Sudley Road in Manassas for an attempted robbery. The male victim, 57 of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man holding a large object, similar to a bat. The man demanded money from the victim. The victim fled from the man who ran in another direction. No property or money was taken from the victim and no injuries were reported. Lookout: Black male, between 25 and 40 years, 5’10” 200 lbs., heavy build, with short black hair and a mustache. Last seen wearing a T-shirt, blue jacket and blue pants
Attempted Strong Armed Robbery
On Oct. 26 at 11:23 p.m., police responded to investigate an attempted robbery reported to have occurred in the area of Waterway and Country Club drives in Montclair around 2 a.m. The male victim, 23 of Dumfries, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men demanded the victim’s money and a bag he was carrying. One of the men forcibly grabbed the bag and began looking through it. The man then dropped the bag and assaulted the victim before both men fled on foot. Lookout: Two black males, both between 16 and 19, 5’10” 150 lbs., medium build, with short black hair. First male was last seen wearing a light green shirt and a black jacket. Second male was last seen wearing a black and red sweat suit and a black scarf on his forehead.
ARRESTS
Aggravated Malicious Wounding / Filing a False Police Report
On Oct. 26 at 3:14 a.m., police responded to the 13200 block of Hawthorn Lane in Dale City for a burglary in progress. Homeowner, the accused, initially reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the male victim, 16 of Woodbridge, had broken into his home. The accused further stated that the victim had implied he had a gun and forced him into another bedroom to rob him. Once there, however, the accused was able to retrieve a bat, which he then used to strike the victim several times causing severe, but nonlife threatening, injuries to the victim’s head and legs. Once police arrived, it was determined that the victim was voluntarily let into the residence by another occupant of the residence and once he was discovered by the accused, the victim was then assaulted with the bat. The accused was arrested without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Arrested: Nadeem Aslam Haider, 46, of 13218 Hawthorn Lane in Dale City. Charged with aggravated malicious wounding and filing a false police report. Court date unavailable, held without bond.
Unlawful Taping
On Oct. 25 at 10:16 p.m., police responded to investigate a report of unlawful taping, which was reported to have occurred at the Healing Hearts Counseling Center at 204 Ellicott Pl. in Occoquan. A staff member reported to police she had discovered a video camera that had been hidden in the shower area within the facility. The investigation revealed that the accused, a custodian at the facility, had allegedly placed the camera in the shower and had taped the female victim, 37 of Alexandria, a total of three times. The accused was arrested and charged. Arrested: Americo Rudolpho Rodriguez-Zabalbeascoa, 53, of 3516 Nexus Ct. in Woodbridge. Charged with three counts of unlawful taping. Court date unavailable, held without bond.
Destruction of Property / Petit Larceny
On Oct. 25 at 11:28 a.m., police responded to the Holy Family Catholic Church at 14160 Ferndale Dr. in Woodbridge for a destruction of property call. Staff reported to police the accused had entered the front lobby and approached the collection box. The staff then heard a loud crash and saw the accused quickly leaving the church lobby. It was determined that the accused had damaged the collection box and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the building. Staff gave chase and detained the accused a short distance from the church prior to police arrival. The accused was arrested without further incident and the money was recovered and returned to the church. Damage to the collection box was estimated around $100. Arrested: David Ryan Oscar, 18, of 14719 Brook Dr. in Woodbridge. Charged with destruction of property and petit larceny. Court date set for Dec. 6, 2011, held on a $1,500 secured bond.
OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary
On Oct. 26 at 12:07 p.m., police responded to the 15600 block of John Diskin Circle in Woodbridge for a burglary to a residence under construction. Workers reported to police the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Oct. 25 and 7 a.m. Oct. 26. Entry appeared to have been made through an unlocked rear window. A microwave valued around $25 was reported missing.
