Felony Hit & Run
On Oct. 16 at 3:10 p.m., police responded to the 12900 block of Kerrydale Road in Woodbridge for a hit and run involving a Prince William County Animal Control Officer. The investigation revealed that the officer was operating his county vehicle in the area above when he was rear ended by a vehicle being operated by the accused. The accused fled the scene but was quickly identified by a witness. Attempts to locate the accused were unsuccessful until police located a cab in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Neabsco Road. The driver reported to police that a man matching the description of the accused got out of the cab in the 15400 block of Cardinal Dr. and fled without paying. Police responded to that area and located the accused who was arrested without further incident. Minor injuries were reported by the animal control officer. Arrested: Todd Brendan Dailey, 23, of 16118 Indus Dr. in Woodbridge. Charged with felony hit and run, driving under the influence [of alcohol], refusal and defrauding an inn keeper [taxi driver]. Court date set for Nov. 7, 2011, held on a $2,500 secured bond.
Burglary With Intent to Commit Assault
On Oct. 16 at 9:01 p.m., police responded to the 18200 block of Graham Ct. in Triangle for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, came to his residence to confront him over a past incident. The homeowner refused to let the accused into the residence, which caused the accused to kick in the door. The accused was unable to get into the residence and was confronted by a male neighbor, 43, in the apartment hallway where a fight ensued. Police arrived and were able to break up the fight. The accused attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers. Minor injuries were reported. Arrested: John Daniel Abel, 32, of 17573 Washington St. in Dumfries. Charged with burglary with intent to commit assault and public intoxication. Court date unavailable, held on a $3,500 secured bond.

Burglary
On Oct. 17 at 5:27 p.m., police responded to the 7900 block of Flager Circle in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Two TVs and jewelry valued around $3,000 were reported missing.
