PWC Police Beat 10/14/13

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On October 11th at 11:56PM, police responded to the 13600 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 31 year old man old Woodbridge, reported to police that he was in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the victim got into the man’s vehicle which was occupied by another suspect. While in the vehicle, the male suspect pulled out a machete and demanded the victim’s wallet. The suspects took the wallet, which contained an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, and the victim fled.  No injuries were reported.
Suspect Description:
Hispanic male, between 25 & 30 years of age, 5’9”, 150lbs with a medium build
No clothing description reported

Black male, between 25 & 30 years of age, 5’9”, 200lbs with a heavy build
Last seen wearing women’s clothing

Armed Robbery – On October 11th at 3:38PM, police responded to the Wal-Mart located at 17041 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and approached the customer service counter. Once at the counter, the suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The man fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. A second suspect was believed to have also been involved. No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen.
Suspect Description:
2 black males—
1st male [robbery suspect] was between 25 & 35 years of age, 5’9”, 160lbs with a medium build and light complexion
Last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black hat, and brown boots

2nd male was around 5’8”, 180-190lbs – no further description
Last seen wearing a navy blue coat

Strong Armed Robbery – On October 13th at 12:48AM, police responded to the 12300 block of Woodlawn Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 27 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and a friend drove to an unknown residence in the above area. Once there, the victim’s friend exited the vehicle and approached a group of unknown males. The encounter turned into a verbal altercation before escalating physically. The group then approached the victim who attempted to run away. The group caught up to the victim and assaulted him before talking his cell phone, shoes, and undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. After taking the victim’s property, the group fled on foot.
Suspect Descriptions:
The group was described as black or Hispanic males, all between 20 & 30 years of age

Residential Burglary – On October 12th at 12:40PM, police responded to a residence located in the 12800 block of Apollo Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM on October 8th and 1:00AM on October 12th. Entry was made into the home through a basement level window which was found damaged. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On October 11th at 6:24PM, police responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Dulcinea Pl in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on October 3rd and 10:00AM on October 11th. Entry was made into the home through a basement level window which was found damaged. Copper piping, valued around $500, was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On October 10th at 8:42PM, police responded to the 14900 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 34 year old woman of no fixed address, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were walking in the area above when a verbal altercation ensued over property the victim was carrying. During the encounter, the accused displayed knife and began slashing towards the victim. The victim was able to run across the street however the accused caught up and assaulted her before taking her purse and fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. Officers located and arrested the accused a short time later.

Darius Lamont WASHINGTON, 36, of no fixed address
Charged with robbery and attempted malicious wounding
