Armed Robbery
On Oct. 13 at 10:30 p.m., police responded to the 15300 block of Grist Mill Trail in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 31 of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was on a delivery in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man who displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and a pizza from the victim before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. Lookout: Black male, unknown age, 5’06”, thin build. Last seen wearing all-black clothing and a ski style mask.
Strong Armed Robbery
On Oct. 10 at 10:49 a.m., police responded to investigate an alleged robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Urbanna Road in Manassas on Oct. 8 around 7:45 p.m. The male victim, 24 of Manassas, reported to police he was riding his bicycle in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men who knocked him from his bike and began assaulting him. The men took the victim’s cell phone, valued around $200, and attempted to take his wallet but were unsuccessful. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was unable to provide police with a description of the assailants.
ARRESTS
Abduction / Reckless Handling of a Firearm
On Oct. 13 at 5:57 p.m., police responded to the area of Cardinal Dr. and I-95 in Woodbridge for a report of shots fired. The investigation revealed that the female victims, 41 and 15, were in a vehicle in the above area with the accused, a known acquaintance, when an argument ensued between the accused and the 41-year-old woman, the driver. During the encounter, the accused, a front passenger, displayed a handgun and fired the gun from the vehicle while in motion. The victim then drove to the Giant near Center Plaza, Minnieville Road and Dale Boulevardd, where both victims went inside the store and contacted police. Officers arrived and located the accused, still in the vehicle. The accused was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries or property damage were reported. Arrested: Kenneth Leon Marthell, 55, of 14378 Shetland Ct. in Woodbridge. Charged with two counts of abduction, one count of reckless handling of a firearm, one count of discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle and felony child endangerment. Court date unavailable, held without bond.
Assault & Battery
On Oct. 13, police arrested the accused in reference to an investigation into an assault and battery reported by two separate victims on two separate dates. The accused is the owner of the Car Doctor Auto Center at 13512 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge. The first female victim, 16, reported to police that she was at the business on Jan. 19 between 1 and 1:45 p.m. for car service. While at the business, the accused allegedly lifted the victim’s shirt and rubbed her stomach. The victim immediately left the business and contacted police. The second female victim, 28, reported to police she was at the business on July 8 at 6 p.m. for car service. While at the business, the accused allegedly put his arm around her and began kissing her neck. The accused also attempted to lift the victim’s shirt several times but was unsuccessful. The victim also left the business and contacted police. Warrants were issued against the accused on Oct. 13 and the accused turned himself into police without incident. Arrested: Pedro Pleitez, 52, of 14615 Anderson St. in Woodbridge. Charged with two counts of assault and battery. Court date unavailable, released on a a$3,000 unsecured bond.
