PWC parks closed except for trails; no parking available

Prince William County has restricted the use of county parks to trails only. All park parking lots and non-trail amenities were closed to the public today, March 25.

The county government says it “encourages visitors to continuing using trails and walking paths at parks near their home,” and asks patrons to avoid driving to parks because parking will not be available.

Please continue to practice proper social distancing when visiting parks. All park amenities other than trails and walking paths are closed to encourage social distancing during a time when county parks have been visited more than usual, a news release said.

Visitors using trails should adhere to the following guidelines:
Stay home if you are sick.
Avoid congregating in groups.
Maintain a minimum distance of 6-feet from others.
Avoid touching shared surfaces.
Take trash with you.
Do not park illegally.

All of the Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism recreation fitness centers, community centers, and historic buildings are also closed until further notice. Registration for classes and events at these locations has been temporarily disabled on our website.

Events, organized activities, and rentals within Prince William County’s Parks or Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism facilities are postponed until further notice. This includes use by sports leagues.
