PWC man arrested in connection with threat

Prince William County Police Department arrests released Monday, Oct. 5, 2015

**ARRESTS**

Phone Threats – On October 4th at 4:12PM, officers were contacted by investigators from the Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department in regard to a threat to their school. The investigation revealed that a student attending Virginia State University (VSU) received a phone message on October 3rd from a known acquaintance which alluded to committing a shooting at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). That student immediately alerted security at VSU who then contacted the VCU Police Department. During the investigation, it was determined that the accused had sent the message from a home on Torrence Pl in Woodbridge resulting in Prince William County police being contacted for assistance. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Nathaniel Antonio BRACHE, 22, of no fixed address
Charged with phone threats

Sexual Assault – On October 3rd at 10:49PM, officers responded to the 2800 block of the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a sexual assault. The victim, a 27 year old woman of no fixed address, reported to police that she was raped by the accused, a known acquaintance, in a homeless camp in the wooded area near the above location. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with rape

Attempted Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On October 3rd at 2:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9800 block of Dochart Sound Ln in Bristow (20136) to investigate a shooting call. The investigation revealed that the accused shot into a residence in the above area as a result of a previous encounter earlier in the evening involving a 16 year old male juvenile, who resides at the home, and another male acquaintance.

The two reportedly went to an area church parking lot to purchase marijuana from the accused and other known acquaintances. During the transaction, the 16 year old allegedly paid for the marijuana with counterfeit money.

In retaliation, the accused and three other suspects went to the 16 year old’s residence on Dochart Sound Ln to confront him over the money. At one point, the accused fired into the home, striking an interior wall. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. Additional charges are forthcoming.

Dominic Arthur GORRIARAN, 18, of 9370 Falling Water Dr in Bristow
Charged with attempted aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Malicious Wounding – On October 1st at 11:00AM, officers responded to the area of Minnieville Rd and Omisol Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 22 year old man old Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face causing a significant laceration to his mouth. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Christopher Andrew HOWARD, 29, of 15110 Concord Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding

Strangulation | Abduction – On October 1st at 9:45PM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the area of Occoquan Rd and Hylton Ave in Woodbridge (22191) on September 13th. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim to the ground and placed his knee against her throat. The accused also struck the victim in the face multiple times. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. He was eventually arrested on October 4th.

Jaime Antonio LOPEZ AREVALO, 31, of 13307 Baxter St in Woodbridge
Charged with strangulation and abduction

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On October 3rd at 4:53PM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 24 year old woman of Jefferson VA, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were driving in the area above when the two began to argue. The victim pulled into the parking lot of the Manassas Mall where the altercation escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the throat and began to assault her. A witness to the incident contacted police and the accused took the victim’s cell phone before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. He was eventually arrested on October 4th by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.

Charged with strangulation, domestic assault & battery and petit larceny

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On October 4th at 10:54AM, officers responded to the 15600 block of Blythe Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Multiple callers reported to police that gunshots were heard in the surrounding area near the above location. When officers arrived to check the area, they also heard additional shots being fired and were able to narrow down the search to a home on Wigan Dr. Following the investigation, the below suspects were charged. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Kevin Matthew LARGE, 18, of 16820 Brandy Moor Lp in Woodbridge
Charged with reckless handling of a firearm and obstruction of justice
Court date: Pending | Bond: $2,500 unsecured
