PWC Fire Chief Kevin McGee to retire Jan. 11, 2019

Fire and Rescue System Chief Kevin McGee has announced his retirement from Prince William County government on Jan. 11, 2019 after 39 years. Deputy Chief Tim Keen will serve as Acting Chief of the Fire and Rescue System, according to a county news release.

McGee entered the Prince William County Fire and Rescue Academy in 1979. His leadership and technical acumen earned him opportunities to continue his service through all levels of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System, including his last 11 years as chief.

Christopher Martino, county executive, was quoted in a news release as saying, “Chief McGee is a proven leader and dedicated public servant. We are grateful for his efforts to shape the Fire and Rescue System into one of the premier systems in the nation, and we will certainly miss his presence.”

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Prince William County community for 39 years,” according to McGee. “I will forever cherish the opportunity I had to serve with so many amazing men and women over the years, and I am proud of the changes we have implemented to make Prince William County a safer community.”

McGee’s last day in the office will be Jan. 11, 2019.
