Prince William County VA Police Department released the following update about shots fired calls on Swans Creek Lane in Dumfries on Saturday, March 21, 2015:
Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling | Shooting from a Moving Vehicle *ARRESTS
On March 24th, detectives identified the remaining parties involved in the shooting incident which was reported to have occurred in the 17900 block of Swans Creek Ln in Dumfries on March 21st.
The investigation revealed that Deante GAINES was the passenger inside a gold Saab along with Paulina GOMEZ who was the driver. These two suspects were eating at a local restaurant near Jefferson Davis Hwy and Wayside Dr when Andre PERRY and Briana COLBERT entered. All parties are known to one another and were previously involved in a prior incident in another jurisdiction. All suspects left the establishment and got into their respective vehicles.
The investigation further revealed that Andre PERRY was the driver and shooter in the red Kia while Briana COLBERT was in the front passenger seat.
Both vehicles traveled at a high rate of speed down Wayside Dr towards Swans Creek Ln where Andre PERRY and Deante GAINES began shooting towards one another’s vehicles. During the encounter, Deante GAINES was grazed in the upper body by one of the bullets. All suspects involved in this incident have been identified.
Detectives have since located and arrested Briana COLBERT and Paulina GOMEZ in connection with this investigation. Warrants have been obtained for Andre PERRY who should be considered armed and dangerous. Deante GAINES was previously located and arrested by the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force on March 23rd in Washington DC where he is awaiting extradition.

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling | Shooting from a Moving Vehicle [Previously Released] – On March 21st at 2:06PM, officers responded to the 17900 block of Swans Creek Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. Multiples callers reported to police that two vehicles were observed driving recklessly down Swans Creek Ln shooting towards one another. During the incident, multiple homes and a vehicle were struck. No injuries were reported. While searching the area, officers located and recovered numerous shell casings along the roadway. During the investigation, detectives received a tip regarding one of the vehicles involved. Through that lead, investigators located a gold Saab in the area of Brandy Moor Lp. Detectives were further able to identify one of the passengers in that vehicle as Deante GAINES. This suspect was reportedly seen by witnesses shooting from the vehicle towards the other vehicle which was described as a red Kia, unknown model. As a result of this information, detectives obtained multiple warrants for the arrest of Deante GAINES in connection to this incident. On March 23rd, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force located Deante GAINES and arrested him without incident at a residence in the 4600 block of Benning Rd in Washington DC. The accused remains jailed in Washington DC until extradited back to Virginia. The investigation into this incident continues as detectives seek to locate the other vehicle and to identify the other suspects involved.
