PWC Crime Report: Sept. 15, 2022 - Three arrests in strangulation cases

• Strong-Arm Robbery *UPDATE –
On September 14, 2022 the suspects sought in connection with the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Marumsco Plaza located at 13989 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) on September 13, were arrested. While patrolling in the above area, Prince William County Police officers detained and identified a man and a female juvenile, who matched the description provided to police during the robbery.
While investigating the incident, officers determined both suspects were involved in the robbery and were taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, both suspects were found in possession of a controlled substance. Following the investigation, both the suspects, identified as Keyhon Illwerd VASQUEZ and a 17-year-old female juvenile, were arrested.

Charged with robbery, contributing the to the delinquency of a minor, possession of a controlled substance, and providing false identifying information to police

Strong-Arm Robbery [Previously Released] – On September 13, 2022 at 9:02PM, officers responded to Marumsco Plaza located at 13989 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 73-year-old man, was sitting in the above area when he was approached from behind by an unknown woman. During the encounter, the woman put her hand over his mouth before an unknown man approached and laid on top of the victim, preventing him from leaving. While on top of the victim, the suspects took the victim’s phone before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

• Armed Robbery *ARREST – On September 14, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that occurred at the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) on August 25, 2022 was arrested. The accused, Lawrence Dawntai JOHNSON, was located in the Woodbridge area and arrested without incident.

Armed Robbery *ADDITIONAL INCIDENTS | SUSPECT IDENTIFIED [Previously Released] – On August 31, 2022 officers were informed that one of the accused involved in the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) provided false identifying information to police at the time of arrest. The investigation revealed, the accused falsely identified himself as Raquelle Darris JOHNSON, while being taken into custody on August 25. During the investigation, officers determined the accused provided false information regarding his identity and he has now been correctly identified as Lawrence Dawntai JOHNSON.
After consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, officers obtained arrest warrants for Lawrence Dawntai JOHNSON and the charge against Raquelle Darris JOHNSON, will be dismissed. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. One other man was previously arrested in connection to this investigation on August 25.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On August 25,2022 at 10:08AM, officers patrolling in the 13900 block of Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) observed a group of men actively fighting. When officers stopped to investigate, they learned one of men involved in the altercation, later identified as the accused, was involved in a robbery earlier that morning. Officers attempted to detain the accused who refused to follow officer’s commands and immediately fled on foot. While officers were pursuing the accused, a bystander took the accused to the ground where officers detained him without further incident. The investigation revealed at approximately 3:00AM, the victim, a 37-year-old man, was staying at the Potomac Inn when multiple unknown men entered his room. Then one of the men brandished a knife and took the victim’s property before leaving the room. Later that morning, the victim observed one of the suspects in the above location and confronted him—leading to a physical altercation. Additional bystanders also intervened before officers arrived at the scene. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Raquelle Darris JOHNSON, was arrested. While searching the accused, he was found in possession of a knife matching the description of the one used in the earlier robbery. The accused reported minor injuries sustained during the physical altercation prior to police arrival. Later that day, officers responded to the above location for an unrelated call when they encountered a man, later identified as Phillip Edward DOUGLAS. While speaking with DOUGLAS, officers were approached by the victim who indicated DOUGLAS was involved in the robbery earlier that morning. Following the investigation, Phillip Edward DOUGLAS, was arrested.

INCIDENTS
• Reckless Handling of a Firearm –
On September 14, 2022 at 2:30PM, officers responded to the Hampton Inn located at 7295 Williamson Blvd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area. No injuries or property damage were initially reported to police. While checking the area, officers located an unoccupied vehicle with damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. No additional property damage was reported. There is no suspect description at this time.

ARRESTS
• Strangulation | Domestic Related –
On September 13 at 10:55AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 4200 block of Kenton Cl. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, a 29-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck. When the victim attempted to use her phone to contact the police, the accused took the phone. While the accused continued to hold the victim’s neck, the victim lost consciousness. When the victim regained consciousness, she was able to leave the residence and contacted the police. While investigating the incident, officers conducted a vehicle stop on a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle description provided to police. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the accused and was detained. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ahmad El RASHAD, was arrested.

• Strangulation | Domestic Related – On September 13, 2022 at 9:00AM, officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed the victim, an 11-year-old girl, and a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim with a phone cord before separating. The accused then followed the victim out of the residence where she then grabbed the victim’s neck. The accused eventually separated from the victim and contacted the police. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Bianca Virinee FLOOD, was arrested.

• Strangulation | Domestic Related – On September 12, 2022 Prince William County Police Department detectives began an investigation into a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Arcadia Run Apartments located in the 11700 block of Wisteria Pond Way in Manassas (20109) between April 1 and June 30. The investigation revealed during the above timeframe the accused was caring for the victim, a 5-month-old infant boy, when he grabbed the victim, which led to marks being left on the infant. Detectives further determined on another occasion during the same timeframe, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck. The incidents were recently reported to the police prompting the investigation. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Gregory David FRENCH, who turned himself in to police on September 14.
