PWC Crime Report for July 28, 2023

INCIDENTS
Death Investigation –
On July 27, 2023 at 7:14PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the 11700 block of Antietam Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. The investigation revealed a body was found floating in the water behind an address in the above area. Fire and rescue responded and removed the body from the water and confirmed the death. Preliminarily, there were no signs of foul play.

The deceased, identified as a 40-year-old man, was confirmed as a missing person who had been reported to police earlier that morning after it was discovered he had left his home on Pineneedle Ct in Woodbridge sometime after 9:30PM the evening prior, on July 26. At the time of the initial report there were no indications the individual was endangered. Family members were checking areas their loved one was known to frequent when the body was discovered. The cause of death is not immediately known and will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Identified: The deceased was identified as James Lloyd MOORE, 40, of Woodbridge

Felony Hit & Run Crash Investigation – On July 26, 2023 at 10:45PM,  Prince William County Police crash investigators responded to Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a hit & run crash that occurred in the parking lot. The investigation revealed the victim, a 23-year-old woman, was leaving the concert and running through parking lot “F6” to her vehicle when she was struck by a white sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The striking vehicle left the scene and was not located. No other information is currently known about the striking vehicle or its driver. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police.

ARRESTS
Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Domestic Related –
On July 27, 2023 at 6:49AM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 7500 block of Thurston Ln in Manassas (20111) to investigate a domestic dispute.

The investigation revealed the victim, a 37-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation inside the home that escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim multiple times and, at one point, choked her. When another occupant of the home, a 14-year-old female juvenile, attempted to intervene, the accused pushed her away. The parties were eventually able to be separated, and the victim was able to leave the home to a neighbor’s residence where police encountered her.

Officers provided first aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where the injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The accused fled the home before police arrived and was not immediately located. No other injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, officers obtained multiple arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Miguel Angel RODRIGUEZ-TORRES. The accused was arrested later that evening without incident.

Armed Robbery – On July 26, 2023 at 4:52PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the 12800 block of Touchstone Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 21-year-old man, was walking in the above area when he was approached by two acquaintances, later identified as the male accused and a juvenile male.
During the encounter, the suspects brandished handguns and took the victim’s property consisting of a cell phone, backpack, and other items. The suspects then got back in their vehicle which was being driven by a woman, later identified as the female accused, and fled the area. No injuries were reported. Officers were able to identify and locate the suspects involved. Following the investigation, the two adult suspects, identified as Darryl Dewayne OVERTON III and Carly Sophia RODRIGUEZ ERAZO, were arrested. Charges are pending against the juvenile suspect.

Charged with accessory after the fact in a felony and contributing to the delinquency of a minor
