PW Police make arrest in domestic related malicious wounding in Manassas, robbery in Woodbridge

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Abduction | Domestic Related – On August 6 at 4:50AM, officers responded to the area of Ashton Ave and Coverstone Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the accused and the victim, a 42-year-old woman of Manassas, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated in an apartment located in the 7500 block of Gales Ct in Manassas (20109) earlier that morning. During the encounter, the accused allegedly brandished a firearm at the victim then pistol whipped her on the head. When the woman attempted to leave the apartment, the accused grabbed her by the neck and began to choke her. At some point, the woman retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed the accused in the lower body. The accused then fled the apartment and was located by officers a short time later. The accused was flown to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. No further charges are pending at this time.

Armed Robbery – On August 6 at 3:45AM, officers were on proactive patrol in the area of Prince William Pkwy and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) when they observed several men fighting. As officer attempted to make contact, two of the men attempted to flee the area on foot. Officers were eventually able to detain one of the men, identified as Joshua Elionai FLETES.  Upon further investigation, officers determined that FLETES and the other unknown man had just robbed the victim, a 53-year-old man of Woodbridge. During the encounter, FLETES and the other unknown man approached the victim and asked him for money. At some point, a physical altercation ensued and the victim was struck on the head with a glass bottle. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the victim before officers arrived. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched the area for the second unknown suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Joshua Elionai FLETES, 27, of 14305 Chesterfield Dr Apt 11 in Woodbridge
Charged with robbery and possession of marijuana

Malicious Wounding – On August 4 at 12:13PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14300 block of Bellona Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 57-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim on the arm causing several lacerations. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
