PW Police investigating homicide of Woodbridge man in Manassas

Homicide Investigation – On Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 6:19PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 8300 block of Sunset Dr. in Manassas (20110) to investigate a shooting.
When officers initially arrived in the above area, there were no signs of injuries, and any involved parties had left the area. While investigating the incident, officers received information that a 22-year-old man was being treated at an area hospital for gunshot wounds. Further investigation revealed two groups were involved in an altercation that escalated while in the above area. During the encounter, gunfire was exchanged before the parties left the area in separate vehicles.
The injured man was driven to an area hospital where he later died. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. This incident does not appear random. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting. More information will be released when available.
