Impersonating a Police Officer – On May 10 at 5:20PM, officers responded to Potomac Mills Mall located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a suspicious person.
Mall Security reported to police that a man, later identified as the accused, approached them to report a possible shoplifter. The accused identified himself as a Prince William County police officer and was wearing a radio with earpiece, handcuffs, two replica handguns, and other items, according to a report from Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman. Officers located the accused and detained him without further incident.
Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.
