PW Police investigate attempted bank robbery, arrest and charge NC woman at Dumfries hotel

**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On April 19 at 1:30PM, officers responded to the 13200 block of Hillendale Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 42-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and attempt to flee. After a brief struggle, the victim was able to retain her purse. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone before fleeing the area on foot. Officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Black male of an unknown age, 5’07”, with a thin build and short black hair
Last seen wearing a khaki pant and a green shirt

**ARRESTS**

Attempted Bank Robbery – On April 19 at 4:44PM, officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 13891 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown woman approached the bank area then passed a note demanding money. When the teller refused, the suspect fled the bank. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified the suspect as Amanda Renee SEGURA. The accused was located and detained without incident a short time later at a hotel in Dumfries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 19 at 6:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15100 block of Jarrell Pl in Woodbridge (22193) for a warrant service. When officers attempted to take the accused into custody, he struck an officer in the face. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
