PW Police investigate abduction, attempted abduction

**INCIDENTS**

Strangulation | Abduction– On October 2 at 3:07AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which occurred at a residence located in the 12800 block of Cara Dr in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that evening. The victim, a 20-year-old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused hit the victim in the face then grabbed her by the throat. When the victim attempted to leave the residence, the accused grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her back inside. The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused and fled the area before contacting police. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused.

Attempted Abduction– On October 2 at 7:35PM, officers responded to the area of River Ridge Blvd and Burrough Hill Ln in Dumfries (22191) to investigation an attempted abduction. The victim, a 32-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was jogging in the above area when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man who placed his hands over the victim’s mouth and neck. As the victim struggled to get free, she was able to scream for help. The suspect then pushed the victim to the ground and fled the area on foot. A police K-9 and helicopter responded to search for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Male of an unknown race, approximately 20 years of age, 5’07”, 140lbs

Armed Robbery – On September 30 at 9:35PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 49-year-old man of Woodbridge, was walking in the above area when he was approached by four unknown men. During the encounter, the suspects assaulted the victim then took his wallet before fleeing the area on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspects. The investigation continues.

Four black males, approximately 20 years of age, wearing all dark clothing– No further description is available

Strong Armed Robbery – On October 2 at 9:05PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 13000 block of Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that evening. The victims, a 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman both of Woodbridge, reported to police that they involved in a verbal altercation in the above area with several acquaintances which escalated. During the encounter, a ring was removed from one of the victims. The suspects then fled the area of foot. Minor injuries were reported. The investigation continues.

Felony Child Neglect | Felony Hit and Run | Eluding – On September 29 at 6:29PM, an officer attempted to conducted a vehicle stop in the area of the Caton Hill Rd and Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a traffic violation. When the officer activated his lights and sirens, the driver refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed onto northbound Minnieville Rd. Officers pursued the vehicle onto Telegraph Rd where the driver crashed into a guard rail causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A passenger of the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, remained at the vehicle and had minor injuries. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused.

Wanted for child neglect, felony eluding, and hit and run

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On October 1 at 10:20PM, officers responded to the 13200 block of Nottingdale Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Several witnesses reported to police that they observed an unknown black male fire several gunshots into the air while riding in a late model Ford Crown Victoria which left the area. Officers checked the area and located several shell casing nearby. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On October 1 at 8:00PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1400 block of Ranger Lp in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:00PM and 8:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. A television, desktop computer, shoes, gaming console, and miscellaneous items were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On September 30 at 4:55PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Alaska Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:30AM and 2:45PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a window which had the A/C unit pushed in. A jewelry box, iPad, clothes, and money were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On September 30 at 9:27AM, officers responded to the Super Chicken located at 10380 Festival Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:20PM on September 29 and 9:05AM on September 30. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. Entry is believed to have been made into the business through a rear door which was found unsecured.  Money was reported missing.
