PW Police identify one suspect in burglary/attempted burglary spree on Aug. 2

Commercial Burglaries | Attempted Commercial Burglaries *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED –On Aug.12, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit identified one of the suspects sought in connection to the series of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries which were reported to have occurred in the Dumfries (22025) and Woodbridge (22193) areas on the morning of Aug. 2, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer.

Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspect, identified as Davian Malik MCKINNIE. Attempts to locate MCKINNIE, have been unsuccessful. The case remains active as detectives attempt to identify the second suspect.

Wanted:
Davian Malik MCKINNIE, 18, of the 13100 block of Marina Way in Woodbridge
Described as a white male, 6’00”, 160lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and multiple tattoos
Wanted for 9 counts of burglary

Attempted Commercial Burglary | *ADDITIONAL INCIDENT [Previously Released] – During the investigation into a series of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries which were reported to have occurred at the Lake Montclair Center located in the 5100 block of Waterway Dr in Dumfries (22025) on the morning of Aug. 2, an additional attempted burglary was reported at the Navy Federal Credit Union.

The same suspects described in the previous incidents were seen on video surveillance attempting to enter the credit union through a rear door. At one point, the suspects forcibly entered a rear electrical room before fleeing. No entry was made into the main building and no property was reported missing. The suspects are believed to have committed additional burglaries or attempted burglaries in the same shopping center, in addition to two businesses in Cheshire Station Plz and the Cricket Wireless located in Center Plz on Dale Blvd from the same day.

Commercial Burglaries | Attempted Commercial Burglaries [Previously Released] – On August 2 at 8:45AM, officers responded to the Lake Montclair Center located in the 5100 block of Waterway Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate multiple burglaries or burglary attempts to businesses. The investigation revealed that between 6:30AM and 8:00AM, two suspects either forced entry or attempted to force entry through the rear doors of approximately five businesses in the shopping center: the Animated Child Day Care, Subway, Vivian’s Nail Salon, the Framing Outlet, and the Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts studio.

Miscellaneous property was reported missing from the Framing Outlet while no property was reported missing from the Tae Kwon Do studio. A backpack reported missing from the day care center was recovered nearby. No entry is believed to have been made into the Subway or Vivian’s Nail Spa. Upon reviewing video surveillance, the suspects matched the description of two men involved in an earlier burglary at CheshireStation Plz.

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On August 2 at 8:35AM, officers responded to the World Nails & Day Spa located at 4151 Cheshire Station Plz in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that at approximately 7:00AM, two men forcibly entered the business through a rear door and removed the ATM containing an undisclosed amount of money.

During a canvass of the shopping center, a neighboring business, the GNC store, was found to have sustained damage from an attempted burglary. No entry was made in the GNC store, and no property was reported missing. The suspects matched the description of two men involved in multiple commercial burglaries reported at the Lake Montclair Center later that morning.

Commercial Burglary [Previously Released] – On August 2 at 5:39AM, officers responded to Cricket Wireless located at 4377 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived at the business, a rear door was found unsecured. Upon checking the business, several items were scattered about or missing. Video surveillance showed two men entering the business and removing items before fleeing. The suspects were only described as black men wearing dark-colored clothing.
