Murder Investigation – Today, on October 28, 2024 at 2:39AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Paxton St in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting. A family friend contacted police after he received information that a shooting had occurred at the home. Officers arrived at the residence and located one of the parties, later identified as the accused, who was detained without incident.
The investigation revealed the accused reportedly shot and killed his father, identified as a 56-year-old man, and the family dog, an approximately 1-year-old Labrador Retriever, during an altercation.
The accused and victim reside together at the home. There were no other occupants inside the residence at the time of the incident. Both the victim and dog were pronounced dead on scene. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information to aid in the investigation.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Christopher Tyler ROSE, was arrested. More information will be released as necessary. The investigation continues.
