PW Parkway walkers are subjects of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On March 12th at 4:03AM, officers responded to the 1600 block of Prince William Parkway (22191) in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that while he was walking in the above area, he was confronted by four unknown males. One of the men allegedly produced a machete and relieved the victim of his coat. After the encounter, the men fled from the area on foot and the victim contacted police. A police K-9 was utilized to search for the suspects. No injuries were reported. The victim was able to provide police with a description of the armed suspect. The other three suspects were only described as Hispanic males.

          Hispanic male, unknown age, 5’8”, thin build with black hair
          Last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and black hat

Attempted Armed Robbery – On March 12th at 12:21AM, officers responded to the 2400 block of Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed that two victims, a 29 year old woman and a 25 year old man – both of Manassas, were walking in the above area when an unknown man confronted them with a hand gun. During the encounter, the victims yelled and ran away from the suspect. The suspect was last seen getting into an awaiting vehicle parked nearby and fleeing from the area. The driver of the vehicle was not seen. No injuries were reported and no property was taken.
Suspect Description:   
Black or Hispanic male, 5’9”-5’10”, 250lbs with heavy build and light complexion
Last seen wearing a gray hoodie style sweatshirt, blue jeans and black hat

Vehicle Description:
A 1990’s model, green sedan – possibly a Ford Taurus or Escort

Commercial Burglary l Grand Larceny – On Feb. 27th at 5:06AM, officers responded to the Big Lots Store located at 13969 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary in progress. An employee of the store reported to police that she heard a series of loud noises coming from behind the store. When police arrived they encountered two unknown males and a U-Haul truck behind the rear of the store next to shipping containers. The suspects fled the area on foot when they encountered officers. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. During the investigation, officers determined that the men were attempting to enter the shipping containers by cutting the lock. No entry was made and no property was reported missing. Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit were able the identity one of the suspects through paperwork left inside of the U-Haul at the scene. Detectives were further able to connect this suspect and the U-Haul to a similar incident which occurred on February 9th at the same business. In that incident, the store’s video surveillance cameras captured a U-Haul pull behind the business and two men exit. The men cut and removed the lock to a storage container before stealing close to $8,800 worth of outdoor furniture from inside.
