Neabsco District Supervisor John D. Jenkins will be honored Dec. 18 for his 32 years of outstanding support of the Library System.
Jenkins will be feted by Prince William Public Library System Board of Trustees, Library Director and Staff at the 2 p.m. event at the Dale City Library, 4249 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA. The public is invited to the event.
Supervisor Jenkins was instrumental in starting the Dale City Neighborhood Library and worked with Acting Director, Virginia Dorkey, from 1985 to 1986 to get the library built. Dale City Mini Library officially opened on February 11, 1986.
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to honor Supervisor Jenkins because of his unwavering support of the Library System”, Library Director Connie Gilman, Ph.D. was quoted as saying in a press release. “His presence in this community has been a positive force for us and we are thankful for his input on many occasions. We look forward to his continued support,” she went on to say.
