Public meeting on School Board budget rescheduled; work sessions set

Prince William County Superintendent of Schools Steven L. Walts and school finance officials will give a presentation on the Proposed FY 2016 Budget and Capital Improvements Program to the public on Monday, February 23 beginning at 7 p.m. in Room 1101 of the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center.

This meeting was originally scheduled for February 9.

Citizens wishing to speak at the February 9 public meeting will be limited to two minutes each and may notify the Board Clerk in advance in writing at P.O. Box 389, Manassas, VA 20108; by phone at 703.791.8709; or by email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

People may also sign up at the door prior to 6:55 p.m. on the evening of the meeting.

School Board members will be present to hear public comment. Chairman At-Large Milton C. Johns will preside over the public comment portion of the meeting which will follow the Superintendent’s presentation. Other members of the School Board are expected to attend.

An official public hearing will be held at the School Board’s regular public meeting on Wednesday, March 18.

Citizens wishing to provide early input on the budget are encouraged to attend the public meeting on February 23.

Budget Work Sessions
The Prince William County School Board will hold budget work sessions on the FY 2016 Budget and CIP on Wednesday, February 18, and Wednesday, March 4, following the regular board meetings on those dates.

The work sessions are scheduled for 9 p.m.

An additional work session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m.

All meetings will be in the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112.
