Report of incidents and arrests released by Prince William County VA police on Tuesday, March 4, 2014
**INCIDENTS**
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 27th at 11:40PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Fox Lair Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a report of gunshots heard in the area. The investigation revealed that a vehicle, operated by an unknown person, drove through a parking lot in the above area while firing several gunshots from the vehicle. The vehicle fled from the area prior to police arrival. No injuries or property damage were reported.
Residential Burglary – On March 1st at 3:47PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 11900 block of Coverstone Hill Cr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00PM on February 28th and 3:00PM on March 1st. Entry was made into the home through a secured door which had been pried open. A gaming system, shoes, a sports memorabilia jersey, and other property, valued around $2,000, were reported missing.
Commercial Burglary – On March 1st at 9:00AM, officers responded to Atlantic Research located at 5945 Wellington Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. A security guard reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00AM on February 26th and 9:00AM on March 1st. Entry was made in the business through a secured door after a lock was cut and removed. No property was reported missing.
Residential Burglary l Grand Larceny Auto – On February 28th at 8:27PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Silvia Loop in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 8:10PM. Entry was made into the home through a window which was broken out. A Ford F150 pick-up truck, miscellaneous property, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, valued around $29,000, were reported missing.
Commercial Burglary – On February 28th at 7:50AM, officers responded to the Tackett’s Mill Car Wash located at 12831 Harbor Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. An employee of business reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM on February 27th and 7:50AM on February 28th. Entry was made into the business through a front glass door after a piece of the glass was removed. No property was reported missing.
**ARRESTS**
Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On March 1st at 7:15PM, officers responded to the 19300 block of Belleau Woods Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 24 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. The victim attempted to get away from the accused, at which point, the accused knocked the victim to the ground and began assaulting her. The accused demanded the victim’s phone, striking her multiple times in the head with a glass bottle. The accused was able to get the victim’s phone and flee in a vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with significant but non-life threatening injuries. The accused was eventually located by officers and detectives at a residence on Purvis Dr where he was arrested without further incident.

Charged with aggravated malicious wounding, robbery, and domestic assault & battery

Malicious Wounding – On February 28th at 3:32PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15300 block of Farm Creek Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate the report of a fight with weapons. The investigation revealed the victim, a 49 year old man of Woodbridge, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, a known acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused cut the victim’s neck with a razor blade before fleeing from the home. The accused was located by police not far from the above area and arrested without incident. The victim was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

Clifton Reid MARTIN, 51, of 1708 Varsity Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding and public intoxication

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 3rd at 1:03AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Ely Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a disorderly call. Officers arrived in the area and located the accused, a juvenile, running in middle of the street. The caller reported to police that the accused was repeatedly kicking the front door of his residence. The caller did not know the accused and called police. No entry was made into the home. As officers spoke to the accused, he became aggressive and kicked one of the officers in the leg. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained and arrested. No injuries were reported. The damage to the front door of the residence was estimated to be around $250.

A 17 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, resisting arrest, destruction of property, and intoxication in public

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 2nd at 11:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Sedgewick Pl in Dumfries (22026) to assist the Department of Fire and Rescue on a medical call. A resident of the home, identified as the accused, was reportedly in and out of consciousness and highly intoxicated. While officers were on scene speaking to other family members, the accused became agitated and assaulted one of the officers. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained and arrested. While being escorted to a police cruiser, the accused spit on one of the officers. No injuries were reported.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO and resisting arrest
