Prince William Police investigate county’s fourth murder of 2015

Murder Investigation – On September 26th at 12:55AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14800 block of Statler Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a death.

The caller, a resident of the home, reported to police that she had returned to her residence and located the victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper body.

The victim was pronounced dead at the home.

During the investigation, detectives from the Homicide Unit determined that this incident was possibly domestic related and attempted to locate a female acquaintance of the victim who resided at the same residence.

Around the same time, that woman, identified as the accused, was stopped and subsequently detained by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges. The accused was found to have suffered self-inflicted wounds and was taken to a hospital in the Stafford County area for treatment.

As the investigation continued, the accused was connected to the stabbing at the home on Statler Dr.

The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in a domestic altercation sometime during the day on September 25th. At one point during that altercation, the accused fatally stabbed the victim before leaving the residence.

Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. This is Prince William County’s 4th murder of 2015.

          Rasheeda Shareen WRIGHT, 39, of 14823 Statler Dr in Woodbridge
