Prince William County Youth Salute winners and finalists told
Osbourn Park High School senior Mari Emma Beatty has been selected as the winner of the 2016 Youth Salute Award. Kelly Isbell from Battlefield High School was runner-up.
Both represented Prince William County at the Town Meeting of Tomorrow held in St. Louis. The awards were presented by the Prince William County Council on Youth Leadership.
Youth Salute recognizes outstanding students nationwide who have shown exemplary leadership qualities that can set an example for youth of today. Winners and finalists were named based on their resumes and essays they wrote on leadership, personal accomplishments, role models, and challenges facing youth today.
Finalists were Camille Edwards (CD Hylton), Victoria Hamilton (Woodbridge), Jessica Hill (Patriot), Norman Jones III (Stonewall Jackson), Miranda Langford (Brentsville), Robert Sadler (Potomac), Shannon Simone Lee (Freedom). Rebekah Zachman (Forest Park) and Basima Zafar (Gar-Field).
