• Murder Investigation *ARREST – On May 27, 2022, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and arrested the man sought in connection to the murder of a 52-year-old man, that occurred in the 3600 block of Tavern Way in Triangle (22172) on May 15, 2022.
The joint investigation with Town of Dumfries Police Department revealed that the victim and the accused were known to one another and involved in an altercation. The altercation escalated when the accused went to the above location and fatally shot the victim before fleeing the area. During the investigation, detectives identified the accused and obtained warrants for his arrest. On May 26, the accused, identified as Devlon Stephen CREW-HAMILTON, was located by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Washington DC where he was taken into custody without incident.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 15, 2022 at 9:12PM, Prince William County police officers and officers from the Town of Dumfries Police Department responded to the 3600 block of Tavern Way in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shooting. Upon arriving in the area, officers located an adult man lying in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers utilized trauma kits to administer first aid to the man until rescue personnel arrived at the location. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that gunshots were heard in the parking lot before a SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting. No suspect has been identified at this time. Preliminarily, the incident does not appear to be random and there is no active threat to the community. The investigation continues.

• Residential Burglary – On Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 8:10PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 121500 block of Purcell Rd. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 11:00AM and 5:15PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through the side door which was found damaged. A computer, jewelry, and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.
Arrests
• Malicious Wounding | Abduction – On Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12:06AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Summertree Condominiums located in the 7500 block of Gales Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. Upon arriving at the residence, officers located two women in the bathroom and immediately separated them. The investigation revealed, that one of the women, identified as the accused, pushed a known male occupant of the residence, identified as the victim, to gain entry into the home.
Once inside the residence, the accused engaged a separate occupant of the home, identified as the female victim, in a verbal altercation before striking her. When the male victim attempted to intervene, the accused brandished a stun weapon and stunned both victims. A physical altercation over the stun weapon ensued where the male victim was able to take possession of the weapon before the accused temporarily separated from the victims. The accused then went into the kitchen, retrieved a knife, and forced her way into the bathroom where the female victim was located. While inside the bathroom the accused grabbed the female victim’s hair and threatened her with the knife while preventing her from leaving the bathroom. The male victim fled the residence and contacted the police. When officers arrived at the residence, they made contact with the women in the bathroom and detained the accused. The victims reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Taheera JOHNSON, was arrested.

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:28AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 14500 block of Fullerton Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. An occupant of the home reported to police that a loud noise was heard and upon checking the residence, damage to the bedroom door was observed. Responding officers located the sole occupant of the bedroom, later identified as the accused, inside the room, unharmed, and detained him without incident. The investigation revealed that the accused was handling a firearm when a round discharged. The round traveled through the bedroom door and lodged in the ceiling of the living room. No injuries or additional property damage was reported. The firearm was recovered by officers and submitted for processing. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Brian Logan WILLIAMS, was arrested.
