Sexual Battery | Domestic Assault & Battery *ARREST – On May 3, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force located the suspect, Jamon Kanee MURPHY, who was wanted in connection to an assault which occurred in the 4000 block of Yellowstone Lp in Dumfries on May 1. MURPHY was arrested without incident leaving a residence in Woodbridge.

Charged with sexual battery, brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and domestic assault & battery

Sexual Battery | Domestic Assault & Battery – On May 1 at 2:30PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4000 block of Yellowstone Lp in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, an 18 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim to the ground and inappropriately touched her. When a family member of the victim attempted to intervene, the accused brandished a handgun then fled the area on foot. A police K-9 and helicopter responded to search for the suspect who was not located. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
**INCIDENTS**
Homicide Investigation - On May 3 at 1:03AM, officers responded to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim will be released once a next of kin is notified. Currently detectives do not believe this is random. The investigation continues and additional information will be released when available. This is Prince William County’s 6th homicide of 2016.*

Residential Burglary – On May 2 at 7:50PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 12900 block of Bayou Woods Cir in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00AM and 7:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into the residence through a window which was found unlocked. A computer tablet, laptop, jewelry, and firearms were reported missing.
**ARRESTS**
Commercial Burglaries – On April 28 at 4:28AM, officers responded to the Associate in Eyecare located at 10338 Bristow Center Dr in Gainesville (20136) to investigate an alarm activation. Once at the location, the front door to the Associate in Eyecare and a rear window to the Pizza Hut were found damaged. Upon reviewing video surveillance footage, an unknown male suspect was seen walking into the Associate in Eyecare and stealing multiple sunglasses from a display case. The suspect fled prior to officers arriving at the location. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. During the search, the accused was located and detained without incident in a nearby shed. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with 2 counts of burglary and 2 counts of grand larceny
