Incidents and arrests reported by Prince William County Police Department on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 4 at 10:18PM, officers responded to the 14000 block of Matthews Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area.  Officers checked the area and located several shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On May 4 at 9:16AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15800 block of Dickerson Pl in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. A resident reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00AM and 7:00AM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a rear basement window which was found damaged. A television, camera, purses, shoes, jewelry, and money were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On May 3 at 11:16AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 43 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused displayed a knife and attempted to stab the victim. At some point, the accused grabbed a cell phone from the victim and threw it against a wall damaging it. When the victim attempted to walk away, the accused put the knife away then grabbed a glass bottle and attempted to strike the victim. The accused eventually left the area and the victim contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, accused was located and arrested without incident.

Karen Colette LAWSON, 51, of the 1900 block of Briar Rose Ln in Dumfries
Charged with robbery, attempted malicious wounding, and destruction of property
Court Date: June 2, 2016 | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
