Incidents and arrests released on Monday, March 14, 2016

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On March 13 at 9:13PM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Westminster Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 32 year old man of Gaithersburg, reported to police that he drove to the above area to meet with an unknown woman he met on the phone app “Meet Me”.  When he arrived, he was approached by two unknown men brandishing handguns. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot. The victim left the area then contacted police. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.
Suspect Descriptions:
Two black males, between 16 & 20 years of age, 5’08’’, 150lbs with medium builds
Last seen wearing all black clothing with masks– No further description provided

Strong Armed Robbery – On March 12 at 12:18AM, officers responded to the 1300 block of East Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 40 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by three unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men struck the victim in the face knocking him to the ground. The men continued to assault the victim then took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 6’00”, 150lbs with a thin build and black hair

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 11 at 3:00PM, officers responded to the area of Spriggs Rd and Chandler Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a shell casing which was found in the area by the caller. During the investigation, several citizens reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area on March 10 around 9:00PM. Officers checked the area and located additional shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Residential Burglary – On March 11 at 1:14PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of York Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM and 7:30PM on March 10. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into the home through an unsecured rear door. A game console and video games were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On March 11 at 6:02AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 900 block of Herons Run Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary.  The homeowner reported to police that a vehicle parked inside an attached garage was rummaged through between 6:45PM on March 10 and 5:45AM on March 11. Entry is believed to have been made into the garage using a garage door opener which was left unsecured in a vehicle parked in front of the residence. A GPS device and clothing items were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Abduction | Strangulation– On March 12 at 7:11PM, officers responded to the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 17 year old female juvenile of Georgia, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the victim attempted to leave but was restrained by the accused.  At one point, the accused assaulted the victim and choked her multiple times. The victim was eventually able to get away from the accused and contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Further investigation revealed that the accused had an inappropriate relationship with the victim and provided her with marijuana and alcohol. Following the investigation, the accused was located and arrested without incident.

Michael John LAWSON, 37, of No Fixed Address
Charged with 1 count of abduction, 2 counts of strangulation, and 1 count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Malicious Wounding – On March 13 at 1:47AM, officers responded to the El Pulgarcito Grill located at 1306 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate several subjects fighting. The caller reported to police that the accused and the victim, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation inside the business with a group of unknown subjects which escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw a glass bottle at the group striking the victim, a 36 year old woman of Maryland, in the back of the head. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Charged with malicious wounding
