Incidents and arrests released on Thursday, June 23, 2016

**INCIDENTS**

Sexual Assault Investigation – On June 22 at 1:33AM, officers responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at an apartment located in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle (22172) on June 20 around midday. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 20 year old woman of Triangle, was sleeping inside her residence when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man. The suspect is believed to have entered the victim’s residence through an unsecured door. After the assault, the suspect left the apartment. The victim reported the incident to a family member the next day and police were contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The investigation continues.

Male, medium complexion, 5’0”-5’2” with a thin build, long black curly hair, and unshaven face
Last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On June 22 at 10:53PM, officers responded to the 2700 block of George Page Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area.  Officers checked the area and located two shell casings. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On June 20 at 8:25AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7700 block of Amherst Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that he heard a loud noise at 2:45AM. Upon further inspection later that morning, the homeowner discovered that an unknown person had attempted entry into the residence through a window which was found damaged. No entry was made and no property was reported missing. 

**ARRESTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On June 22 at 2:26PM, officers responded to the 1300 block of Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 21 year old man of Lorton, reported to police that he was standing outside his vehicle in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man, later identified as the accused, asking for money.

When the victim refused, a verbal argument between the victim and the accused ensued.

At some point, the accused took the victim’s wallet from his vehicle. When the victim attempted to stop the accused from taking his wallet, the accused assaulted the victim then fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Responding officers located the suspect a short time later in the 12900 block of Occoquan Rd and detained him without incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
