**UPDATES**
Attempted Malicious Wounding *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On December 28th, officers identified the suspect involved in the fight which was reported to have occurred in the 14700 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge on December 27th. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of this suspect, identified as Edgar GOODWIN. Attempts to located GOODWIN have been unsuccessful.
Wanted:
Edgar GOODWIN, 47, of no fixed address
Wanted for attempted malicious wounding
Described as a black male, 5’10”, 235lbs with a heavy build, with black hair and brown eyes
Attempted Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On December 27th at 10:13PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate subjects fighting in the area. The caller reported that the victim, a 43 year old man of Triangle, was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, a known acquaintance, which escalated. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim while he was on the ground. The victim was able to kick the knife away from the suspect who then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported. The victim did not want cooperative with officers. The investigation continues.
**INCIDENTS**
Indecent Exposure – On December 29th at 12:25AM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Westway Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an indecent exposure. The victim, a 31 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she observed an unknown man expose himself and make an obscene gesture. The victim immediately contacted police and the suspect left the area. No other contact was made between the two parties. Officers checked the area and did not locate the suspect.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 17 & 25 years of age, 6’00’’, 160lbs with a thin build and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and black shoes
Residential Burglary – On December 28th at 1:06PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11800 block of Benton Lake Rd in Bristow (20136) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM on December 25th and 1:06PM on December 28th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Jewelry, prescription medication, and a handgun were reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On December 28th at 5:16AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12300 block of Newcastle Lp in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on December 21st and 5:10PM on December 28th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. No property was reported missing. Minor property damage to the interior of the residence was reported.
**ARRESTS**
Sexual Assault Investigation – On December 27th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in Woodbridge. The investigation revealed that the victims, a 27 year old female juvenile of Woodbridge and a 19 year old woman of Dumfries, were sexually assaulted on more than one occasion when they were between 8 to 10 years of age by the accused, identified as a family member. The victims recently disclosed the incidents to another family member who notified police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties by a custodian

Malicious Wounding – On December 27th at 10:39AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15200 block of Leicestershire St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 53 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times in the back of the head with a coffee mug. Minor injuries were reported. The accused fled prior to police arriving at the home. The suspect was eventually located a short time later and arrested without incident.

Charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery
